iPhone / Samsung F700 / Prada Phone Rumors Debunked

iPhone / Samsung F700 / Prada Phone Rumors Debunked

The following image has been circulating the internet for the past few days, resulting in mass hysteria due to the fact that Apple is currently suing the pants off of Samsung for infringing on their copyrights. This image appears to show that the Samsung F700 was first shown at CEBIT 2006 and released in February of 2007. What whoever made the image didn't take the time to do was check their facts and find that although Samsung may have spoken about advancing their cell phone plans previous to 2007, they only showed the F700 design for the first time February 8th, 2007.

LG PRADA 3 to use Android; headed to Sprint in 2010?

LG PRADA 3 to use Android; headed to Sprint in 2010?

Mark this down as a definite vague rumor for the moment, but there's talk that LG's next PRADA cellphone might adopt the Android OS.  The so-called PRADA 3 is expected to have a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen, and it's also been suggested that US carrier Sprint will be offering the device.  If so, it would make this particular luxury smartphone the first carrying the PRADA name to use CDMA rather than a GSM radio.

LG GD510 “Pop”: style & solar charging, but short on specs

LG GD510 “Pop”: style & solar charging, but short on specs

Sometimes a gadget comes along that is so pretty that, when you realise it has a spec-sheet more barren than the Sahara, you can't help but tear at your chest and roar.  LG's GD510 "Pop" isn't quite so bad as all that, but it's a handsome 3-inch touchscreen phone - the most compact ever with such a screen-size, they say - with a brushed aluminum body that throws out most of the things we take for granted in today's handsets.  WiFi we can live without, but a handset lacking 3G?  For shame!

LG planning iPhone rival in Q4; new PRADA and Vertu-rival after

LG have revealed their plans to launch a number of new luxury phones, including a new PRADA design, which they hope will help usurp Samsung from their number two cellphone maker in the world position.  According to LG’s mobile business president, Ahn Seung-kwon, the current number three is aiming to step up by 2012, and one of their first steps in doing so will be releasing a new "Black Label" series phone in Q4 2009 to take on Apple's iPhone 3GS.

LG Prada II and Prada Link Bluetooth Watch launch

LG Prada II and Prada Link Bluetooth Watch launch

LG have officially launched the Prada II cellphone, as expected, and it's brought along a friend in the shape of a Bluetooth watch, the Prada Link.  Like other such devices we've seen, it can show caller ID as well as preview text messages, without requiring you to whip out the handset itself (and promptly get mugged).  As we've already seen, the Prada II itself is a 3G HSDPA (900/2100MHz) device with WiFi, a 3-inch capacitive WQVGA touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Verizon announces three new LG devices

Verizon and LG are wowing us today with a few new entrants onto Verizon's network. The new devices are all pretty nice, but the showstopper is no doubt the Dare. The Dare is an all touch device, that will have a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus, and will sport on board image editing. The Dare is a PRADA variant, it is similar to the AT&T offering, of the LG Vu. It is expected to launch next month.

LG KS20 for sale, if you are in Europe

LG KS20 for sale, if you are in Europe

This is another one of those Prada-like handsets from LG. This one has HSDPA up to 3.6Mbps and a 2.8” touchscreen.

It also has a 2MP camera, a microSD card slot, and WiFi. It also has Bluetooth and Windows Mobile 6, which is realistically probably one of the downsides of the phone.
