Unfortunately, the only details tipped by the inventory listings are the two color options.

Nexus 5 tipped for LG, complete with Nexus 4 pricing

Nexus 5 tipped for LG, complete with Nexus 4 pricing

Though we've already explored the possibility that Motorola might be making the next Nexus smartphone for Google, it's time for LG to have a swing at things. And why not? They've made the Nexus 4 successfully, and Google's been nothing if not satisfied with the high-powered sales stream that is the device as sold through Google Play (like the Moto X Google Play edition rumored for late 2013). That's why the "South Korean media" tip with MyDrivers this afternoon doesn't seem so far-fetched.

LG confirms Nexus 4 still in production with no 5 on the books

If there's one element in the news universe here that tells us Google is doing things right, it's the constant talk and response to a new Nexus smartphone - even when the current model is doing exceedingly well on the market. Here in first quarter of 2013 heading into Spring (or maybe that's just wishful thinking), we've got rumors galore of a Nexus 5 being worked on for release at Mobile World Congress 2013 from LG, none other than the manufacturers of the Nexus 4. Today they've confirmed that no, that doesn't make any sense, and that yes, they're still making massive amounts of the current Google hero Nexus 4 for the time being.

LG: LTE in the Nexus 4 is an evolutionary leftover

LG: LTE in the Nexus 4 is an evolutionary leftover

The LTE modem discovered in the Nexus 4 is an evolutionary leftover akin to an appendix or tailbone, LG has explained, dashing any hopes of a firmware update unlocking future 4G capabilities. Interest was raised when teardowns of the latest Nexus smartphone revealed it had an LTE-capable modem, despite being billed as 3G only; as LG told TechRadar, however, that's just the vestigial remnants of the more advanced - and more expensive - device the Nexus 4 was based upon.

LG 2015 Nexus 5 will use Snapdragon 808, says latest tip

As expected, until we see the actual device, or at least until all voices start singing in unison, leaks about upcoming devices will always fluctuate from one detail to the next. The latest victim? Why, it's none other than LG's second Nexus 5 smartphone. You know, the Nexus that isn't made by Huawei. According to the latest "reliable source", the device will bear a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 instead of an 820 or, worse, an 810, which might be for the best considering the present mobile processor landscape.
