Orange France launch LG GD910 watch-phone from $1,290

After months of speculation, Orange France have confirmed pricing for the LG GD910 watch phone. Originally tipped to cost in excess of £1,000 ($1,676), the GD910 has been listed on the carrier's site from €399 ($573) with a new 12- or 24-month contract.

Update: Orange France have changed their press release, to confirm that the LG GD910 starts from €899 ($1,290) rather than €399 as it originally suggested.

Samsung S9110 won’t go head to head with LG GD910 in UK

Samsung has answered the question of how its S9110 watch phone might compete with LG's upcoming GD910 in the UK, by deciding not to launch it at all.  After revealing that the S9110 - which has a 1.76-inch glass touchscreen and measures just 11.98mm thick - would land in France later this month, Samsung confirmed that it had no plans to release it in the UK "for the foreseeable future".

CES 2009: LG GD910 Watch Phone entering production 2H 2009

LG have confirmed that their cellphone watch, the LG GD910, will go into production in the later half of 2009.  The device, which has full 3G HSDPA connectivity, a 1.43-inch touchscreen and text-to-speech functionality, will go on sale in Europe this year.  LG's Dr Woo Paik demonstrated the watch-phone live on stage at LG's press conference at CES this morning, making a speakerphone call.

LG GD910 3G cellphone watch coming to CES before European launch

LG have confirmed that their 3G cellphone watch, the LG GD910, is going into production.  The concept was originally demonstrated as a concept at CES 2008 in January, but will be among the products on-show by the company at CES 2009 next month.  In addition to 7.2 Mbps HSDPA compatibility, the GD910 has a 1.43-inch touchscreen and a front-mounted camera for video calls or still/video capture.
