Welcome to Thursday evening folks. We had a lot of news coming out of Germany for the second day of our IFA 2012 trip, so let's jump in. We have a ton of hands-on posts to get through, but first, be sure to have a look at our Dell IFA 2012 Wrap-Up for all of the details on what the company announced and what it let us see. Windows 8 makes manufacturers touchy at IFA 2012

Windows 8 makes manufacturers touchy at IFA 2012

This week in Berlin at IFA 2012 we're seeing a large amount of manufacturers bringing on touchscreens and convertible, transformable, or otherwise completely strange Windows 8 computers. There's everything from a flipping screen to a flat horizontal interface, and so many tablets that we don't know where to begin. One thing they've all got in common: they're attempting to make use of Windows 8's ability to work with interactive touchscreens and gestures galore.

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: August 9th, 2012

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: August 9th, 2012

This morning it's time for the leaks to come rolling in, starting with the Sony Xperia Tablet - all thin and new looking. Two "pre-human" species have been found in another awesome day in science that'll be bringing new understanding to us on the whole "where did we come from" question. SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: August 1, 2012

SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: August 1, 2012

Surprisingly enough, we didn't have too much news about the ongoing trial between Apple and Samsung, except for the part where Samsung made Apple really angry by sending evidence that the original iPhone was inspired by Sony designs out to the press. Samsung found itself in a bit of hot water after that leak, so this evening it seems that Samsung has managed to get on Judge Lucy Koh's bad side. The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said today that the Galaxy Nexus can remain on sale until August 20 despite Apple's request for its preliminary injunction against the phone to be restored, so if you've been planning to buy one, your window to do so has been extended.

SlashGear Morning Wrap-Up: August 1st, 2012

This first of the month we've got analysis that says things aren't going to look fabulous for Microsoft while, believe it or not, Apple sits right on top of the second quarter for PC shipments. If you're looking to pick up a Samsung Galaxy Nexus you're in luck -it's escaped its lawful bonds once again. There's a new tip on the iPhone side of things, two new elements: Bluetooth 4 and a magsafe-style dock connector.

The tablet known as Lenovo ThinkPad has been officially tipped by its manufacturer to be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich inside Spring 2012. This means there could be a few more weeks in your path - or four weeks if you're listening to the groundhog. When the update does come down, you're in for a few awesome treats, including the Face Unlock feature that we did not see some through with the ICS upgrade for the almighty Transformer Prime, believe it or not.
