Lenovo has launched its two first attempts at Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablets, the IdeaPad K1 and ThinkPad Tablet, and we met up with the company to grab some hands-on time with both models. Targeted at consumers and at enterprise, respectively, the K1 and ThinkPad slates each tick most of the Tegra 2 Honeycomb boxes we've already seen from rival tablets; however, Lenovo also has a few tricks to differentiate them. Lenovo has officially announced a trio of slates, including the IdeaPad Tablet K1 and ThinkPad Tablet we saw leaked in press shots earlier, as well as the IdeaPad P1. The K1 and ThinkPad Tablets each run Android 3.1 Honeycomb on NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and are the first slates to be Netflix-certified; meanwhile, the IdeaPad P1 runs Windows 7 on a 1.5GHz Intel Atom processor.

The official press shots for Lenovo's two upcoming Android tablets have just been leaked. The Lenovo IdeaPad K1 is a consumer tablet that we've seen more details of in previous leaks, slated for a July release. The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet, on the other hand, has remained more mysterious is believed to be designed for enterprise. Both are Android Honeycomb tablets and set to launch any day now.

Microsoft's Surface Pro has company, with Lenovo revealing its own Windows 8 slate, the ThinkPad Tablet 2, targeting the all-important enterprise segment. Like the higher-spec Surface, Lenovo's new tablet has content-creation features like a digital pen and all the remote management your IT team demands; it also has the more flexible full version of Windows 8, rather than Windows RT. And, like Microsoft, Lenovo is playing pricing cards close to its chest. One thing is already becoming clear, however: Windows 8 may well struggle to compete in business markets.
