Welcome to Thursday evening folks - just one day left to go before the weekend is here once again. Today we were finally given some actual details about the Wii U, and it's safe to say that anticipation is quite a bit higher now that we know it's release date and pricing. Nintendo started off early with pricing and release information for Japan, and later on in the day, gave us pricing and release date details for the US and European releases. We were also given a list of "launch window" titles for the Wii U, and we have to say - it looks pretty impressive.

As Thursday winds down, we're finding that we've got a lot of news to recap. Today Samsung used the MERL touchscreen table to show that Apple doesn't have much of a claim, before resting its case and asking the Judge to award it $421.8 million in the suit. Later in the day, we caught word that Judge Lucy Koh had asked Apple's counsel if they were smoking crack when they presented an extremely long document filled with witnesses they wanted to call for rebuttals. Yes, that really happened.

Astronomers discover alien solar system much like our own

Astronomers have discovered an alien solar system that looks very much like our own solar system. According to the scientists, the discovery suggests that all solar systems may start out looking very similar. The solar system in question is called Kepler-30 and is 10,000 light-years from Earth. The solar system has three known worlds all orbiting in the same plane aligned with the rotation of the star.

Vizio All-in-One PC launches with Ivy Bridge

This is the first day that the folks at Vizio bring on their PC collection with both desktops and notebooks, having just been a television brand in the past. This first reveal includes first of all a set of two all-in-one computers, one with a 24-inch display at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, the other with a 27-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Both computers work with 3rd Generation Intel Core (Ivy Bridge) processors, both have NVIDIA Kepler GeForce GPU units, and both work with lovely 2.1 surround sound.

Apple WWDC 2012: Are we expecting too much?

Apple's annual developer event may kick off in just a few hours time but the rumor machine has been busy for months, churning out delicious chunks of speculation and hype. A new line of slinky MacBook Pro notebooks, blistering Mac Pro desktops, great swathes of iOS 6 and even a fresh iPhone have all been tipped for the opening WWDC 2012 keynote, each with their retinue of rumor and counter-rumor. As Tim Cook's moment on stage approaches, though, it's looking more and more possible that we've built ourselves up for more disappointment.
