Unless you happened to own one of the very few phones that supports Google Wallet and happened to have a Citi credit card, chances are you haven't had the opportunity to pay for an in-store purchase with your phone. But that may soon change, as rival service Isis is now securing retail partnerships. It's all set up to go live this summer, right on schedule. Read The Full Story

, May 10th 2012 Discuss [0]

Microsoft is considering courting Facebook to use Windows Phone as the basis of the oft-rumored Facebook Phone, according to insider whispers, using the fact that it isn't Google as a key selling point. Although recent leaks have suggested Facebook intends to use a significantly reworked version of Android as the basis for its own-brand handset, Business Insider's source claims Microsoft believes development is not yet so far advanced as to prevent it from scooping the social site's business with a well-played Windows Phone push. All you've got to do is Tap and pay with your NFC-enabled credit card OR your smartphone using Google Wallet - adding that you should simply go to Google.com/wallet for more information if you're not already in the know. We know from earlier today that the launch is very likely for later today and of course that the NFC-based mobile money service will be popping up imminently one way or another. Read The Full Story

, Aug 29th 2011 Discuss [1]

There's some big money floating around right this minute, all of it aimed directly at NFC venture Isis, a soon to be rival of Google's NFC service known as Google Wallet. Mobile payments will be the way of the future if Japan is any indication, a mobile payment piece of hardware a MUST in every smartphone (and quite a few feature phones too) on the islands if you want to sell a single unit. Bloomberg has some "people with knowledge of the project" who are saying that this investment is set to be a big step toward what Juniper Research says is a $670 billion dollar market by 2015.
