BBC iPlayer app for iPad hits Europe in first stage of global trial

The BBC has launched a European version of its iPlayer streaming TV and radio app for iPad, offering subscription-based access to new and archive content from the network. Initially released as a pilot in eight western European countries, though expected to be pushed globally by BBC Worldwide over time, subscriptions to the BBC iPlayer app are priced at €6.99 a month (or €49.99 for an annual subscription).

iPlayer international access “less than $10” a month promises BBC

BBC Director General Mark Thompson has apparently confirmed international iPlayer plans, with the streaming media service expected to launch for non-UK users later in 2011. Speaking at the FT Digital Media & Broadcasting Conference 2011 this morning, Thompson also confirmed that the international iPlayer service would be subscription-based, but that it would be "a few dollars a month - less than $10."

Call of Duty: Black Ops Gets New 1.05 Patch, Continues to Try and Fix Multiplayer

The patches just keep on coming. Despite the fact that Treyarch has said in the past that it tends to take a month before patches can be issued to consoles, here's patch 1.05 just one week after 1.04 landed on the PlayStation 3. Despite the hot fix that was also released earlier in the week, Treyarch seems to be at a constant race to try and make the multiplayer experience what they wanted it to be, right out of the gate. Unfortunately for PlayStation 3 owners especially, that just hasn't been the case.
