iPhone 5 launch safe despite Qualcomm 28nm delays claims analyst

Apple's next-gen iPhone launch plans won't be waylaid by Qualcomm's 28nm chip shortages, analysts believe, with the iPhone 5 still on track for a predicted October debut. "The bottom line is that we remain comfortable with an October iPhone 5 launch despite the reported 28nm chip shortage at Qualcomm" Apple-obsessed Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster wrote in an investor note today, Apple Insider reports, with suggestions that the Cupertino company could rely on its "favored inventory status" to ensure sufficient supply.

Despite the method Apple used for massive iPhone sales at the launch of the iPhone 4S this past year, it appears now that the iPhone 4 will be exiting the show before the iPhone 5 hits shelves later this year. Several companies including Target and RadioShack have initiated a $49.99 sale price for the iPhone 4 with Best Buy joining this party just this week. Searches across several online sources (including Best Buy online) have yielded shows of low or no stock on the phone, this very possibly pointing toward the stock change that will certainly occur once the next-generation iPhone 5 hits shelves.

This week some intrepid iOS developers have discovered a new portal coming your way soon: Apple's iCloud beta, complete with code references to the new iOS 6 mobile operating system. This climpse has not yet shown just one whole heck of a lot of information about what we're in for in the future for Apple's mobile devices, but we can see that we're in for some more cloud integration of services soon. Included in this beta portal are references and images of both Apple's Notes and Reminders, both of them set for iOS on the iPhone, for example, coming to the iCloud soon we must expect.
