iPhone explodes in holiday sales as Nokia struggles to penetrate

Nokia's multi-million efforts to push its Windows Phone based Lumia 800 still hasn't resulted in strong holiday sales, according to the latest UK stats, with Apple's iPhone continuing to dominate the mobile market. Although the newest iPhone 4S was an unsurprising success, sales tracking firm GfK says, the aging iPhone 3GS still managed to make it into the top 15 handsets chart despite dating back to mid-2009. Android was also a winner, with Samsung's Galaxy S II a particular star.

French iPhone explodes mid-call, glass screen sent flying

Do more Apple gadgets explode than those of any other manufacturer, or do we just hear about them more?  Either way, the latest iPhone to go fizz-pop-bang is in France, where a teenager's handset began "hissing" before the screen shattered sending glass "flying in the air".

"The iPhone was 30 centimetres away from my face when I felt like I received a grain of sand in my eye. It could only be a piece of glass" user Romain Koleda told reporters, while his mother is considering taking legal action against Apple.  It's unclear what model of iPhone was affected, though going by the picture it is either an iPhone 3G or a newer 3GS.

But now that Siri and iPhone 4S are married, everyone wants a piece of the action. Take for example the brand new and nearly released to the public Tweet with Siri, a hack which allows you to use Siri to add a Twitter status on your iPhone 4S on the go - simple, and perhaps easy enough to accomplish that it should have been included in the basic build long ago, yes?
