Purported iPad Pro case leaks, shows 12.9-inch behemoth

Ready for a 12.9-inch iPad? Some alleged parts for an “iPad Pro” have leaked out of China, showing what look to be an early mold of the device. Metal in appearance, it definitely has styling cues found with current iPads as well. An Apple logo is also present, as is a troubling feature we’d hoped wouldn’t make it to a massive tablet.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch display tipped for early 2014

It's not been a week since the Retina iPad mini hit shelves in the USA and rumors of the next-generation iPad Pro have surfaced. This comes soon after the in-store availability of the device known as the iPad Air, a name which suggests too that a "Pro" model may be in the works. This larger device would have a display to match its abilities as well: 12.9-inches by rumor's reckoning.

iPad Air sparks iPad Pro tablet talk

iPad Air sparks iPad Pro tablet talk

Almost immediately after Apple's iPad Air was revealed earlier this week, talk of the next generation began. With the name "Air" in Apple's notebook lineup, one of two different naming conventions, word sprung up that an iPad Pro could be in the works. While we've seen more than our fair share of leaks and tips over the past several weeks (and months, believe it or not) of the iPads that appeared officially just this Tuesday, word of the iPad Pro comes only from precedent.

Apple iPad prototypes revealed in court docs

Apple iPad prototypes revealed in court docs

Say what you will about the state of patent disputes in America these days. There are of course companies that specialize in securing patents for the sole purpose of suing companies who end up actually putting those ideas to some sort of commercial use, and then there are frivolous battles between competing manufacturers. And finally, the minority of cases involve actual theft of intellectual property. But regardless of the circumstances, it's always cool when these cases shed insights into the design process of a product.

What you'll see here is a very thick early vision.

iPad prototype appears on eBay with dual 30-pins

The auction appeared in the last 24 hours with not one, but two 30-pin dock connectors, one in the normal position, the other on the long end of the tablet. This device seems to confirm the validity of the original dual-port iPad cases that popped up before the original iPad was released in 2010.

Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad promises six month battery

Like Apple's own SmartCovers, it automatically wakes the iPad from sleep mode when opened.

Apple slashes iPad production claim analysts

Apple has reportedly cut iPad supply chain orders, slashing production by 25-percent in Q4, in a move that could suggest the company has sufficient stock of the second-gen slate to tide it over until the iPad 3 launch. The reduction was spotted by analysts JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bloomberg reports, quoting several supply chain vendors affected by Apple's decision. It's believed to be the first time Apple has made such a drastic cut.
