This week Apple has made a couple of moves in their iPad and iPhone collections available on the market that might not make a lot of sense to consumers. For the iPhone, they’ve added an iPhone 5c that works with 8GB of internal storage space - the previous smallest model was 16GB. For the iPad, they’ve gotten rid of the iPad 2 (the last model available with a 30-pin connector), replacing it with the iPad 4 (aka iPad with Retina Display and Lightning connector).

Korg has taken the wraps off of its NAMM 2014 instrument range, including mobile synths for the iPad, a DIY monophonic synth, and a resurrection of the classic 80s keytar. Today Apple has unveiled their 5th generation iPad called the iPad Air, coming in a size and shape reflective of the success of the iPad mini. This iPad Air works with the same 9.7-inch LED-backlit multi-touch display as in the 4th generation iPad, working again with IPS LCD technology. The overall size and weight of the larger iPad has been reduced significantly.

This quarter has certainly been decent for Apple with iPhone and iPad sales that eclipsed the company's numbered from one year ago. While you'll want to see the major numbers surrounding Apple's massive $43.6 billion in revenue in an article just published on SlashGear a moment ago, you'll find that Apple's iPhone units sold aside it's massive amount of iPads pushed in the past three months to be astounding on its own. This quarter's results boasted a cool 19.5 million iPads sold and 37.4 million iPhones sold in the three months ending on March 30th, 2013.
