Ubuntu Edge gets price hack to boost Indiegogo pledges

You might remember that dual-booting Linux and Android-powered phone that we discussed last month. It's called the Ubuntu Edge and it's hoping to change the mobile landscape in a big way. However, before it can do that, Canonical needs some funding help in order to produce the phone for the masses, and it seems like pledges are slowing down, for which Canonical is bumping the price down in order to get more people interested.

Rufus Cuff has all the right wrist wearable tech specs, but it’s bulky

A crowdfunding project Rufus Cuff has some utopian features that people may find intriguing, however the reality of it could be different from the perception. The main focus is on the 3-inch screen and how crammed everything could look on it. The reality is that the wearable market is getting crowded with products that are late to the party. Look at the Nike FuelBand as an example, a major chunk of Nike Digital Sport hardware team has been laid off because the company realised it needed to refocus on other avenues.

DREDD 2: a call to action from Karl Urban

DREDD 2: a call to action from Karl Urban

Now in the aftermath of its DVD and Blu-ray release, the film has captured hordes of rabid fans - a cult following, if you will - with so much interest that there’s a call for a second film. The creators of the first film are struggling to prove to the powers that be that cash invested in a second film would be worth the time and effort - but there’s a petition, and Karl Urban himself is onboard.
