Intel connected-car investments total $100 million

Intel Capital today announced that it is pouring in a $100 million fund into research that will help build the car of tomorrow. Toyota has taken the wraps off its latest car concept, the Fun-Vii, a display-clad urban vehicle described as a "smartphone on four wheels." Revealed just ahead of the Tokyo Auto Show in a few days time, the Toyota Fun-Vii measures just over 4m long and 1.75m wide, and features dynamically customizable body panels that, like the interior of the car, can be updated to show your favorite photo, a text message or other content. Nokia N9 Android app support promised with Alien Dalvik

Myriad has already demonstrated its Alien Dalvik system for running unmodified Android apps on MeeGo devices, developer Steve Troughton-Smith reminded us, as seamless to the end-user as the join between the N9′s display and the polycarbonate housing, and promising the same performance as native software.

Tesla Model S and BMW pick Tegra for high-power infotainment systems

Tegra isn't just finding its way into smartphones and tablets; NVIDIA has also sealed deals with Tesla and BMW to power the two marque's infotainment, navigation and instrument-cluster systems.
