It appears that it's time for Huawei to enter the quad-core game with a fury as not only have they released a smartphone and a 7-inch tablet, they've got a 10.1-inch tablet with quad-core by the name MediaPad 10FHD as well! This device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display at 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, and is running on Huawei's own brand new quad-core system on chip. Huawei Ascend D Quad and D Quad XL get official with custom quad-core processor

Chinese manufacturer Huawei intends to stake its high-end claim at Mobile World Congress 2012, and they're off to a good start. The previously indicated Diamond line of devices will begin with the Ascend D Quad, featuring Huawei's very own ARM-based quad-core processor, the K3V2. We had expected them to rely on Nvidia's Tegra 3 architecture, but it looks like they're keeping it in the family. The company claims that this bit of 1.5ghz silicon helps it perform 49% faster than conventional devices (making it the "world's fastest smartphone") while improving battery life. Though we now know that the first ever officially Google licensed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet is ASUS' Transformer Prime, there's certainly going to be a list of incoming tablets sooner than later with that same certification - Huawei's MediaPad has just been announced to be another of those devices. This tablet has been previously announced, but now it'll be pre-loaded with the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. When Huawei sent over their new and soon to be released smartphone set to debut in Asia in Q4 called the Huawei Honor (U8860) also known as the Glory, I was expecting another run of the mill Android smartphone for the budget crowd like their previous devices. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The Honor offers a 1.4 GHz processor, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread, an HDR capable 8 megapixel camera and a huge battery. I quickly realized this was a much better phone than I’d thought. Now that I’ve had some time with it here’s my thoughts.
