Recap Of New HTC Smartphones, Tablet, and Announcements From MWC 2011

We had quite a rush of HTC news live from MWC 2011 this morning, so here’s a recap in case you didn’t catch everything. Our very own Chris Davies got plenty of hands-on time with the new product line up from HTC including the Incredible S, Wildfire S, Desire S, Chacha, and Salsa smartphones, as well as the Flyer tablet. Other HTC announcements included an updated version of their HTC Sense, a new video chat app, new support for OnLive cloud gaming service, and their partnership with Qualcomm to develop multi-core devices.

HTC Incredible S official

HTC's Verizon DROID Incredible has spawned a European version, the HTC Incredible S, now packing a GSM radio into its unusually angular casing. HTC describes the style as "inside out" design, though what's really on the inside is a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 single-core processor. Unusually, despite HTC claiming that the Incredible S will be positioned as an Android enthusiast's device, it will actually launch with 2.2 Froyo.

Verizon HTC Android phone latest to leak

Short of only making a single prototype and sewing it into Peter Chou's trouser pocket, we're not sure what HTC could do to stop its smartphones leaking and spoiling the surprise come launch day; still, if they didn't we wouldn't get premature glimpses of models like this Verizon slab from the mobile01 forums. Hot on the heels of the potential Desire replacement from earlier today, this Verizon-branded model is also expected to run Android.

HTC Incredible HD leak is obviously engineered

Looks like HTC and/or Verizon have been caught trying to muster a little pre-holiday excitement for the upcoming HTC Incredible HD (aka HTC Mecha), with our duo of "leaked" shots yesterday part of a set of six different partial images of the new smartphone. Engadget, Gizmodo, CrunchGear and Android Central all received the same bezel shot, but then added to that with pics of the handset's microUSB port, camera, microSD card slot and power button respectively.
