Perhaps the two biggest topics of the week, the Google Wallet announcement and Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.1 Mango unveiling, brought exciting new developments for the two mobile platforms. More speculation continued on what Apple has planned for next month's WWDC, where the company is expected to unveil the new iOS 5, OS X Lion, and possibly the iCloud---iTunes cloud music service. In anticipation, Amazon's been competing even more aggressively to campaign for its Cloud Drive and Cloud Player services. Gaming got some extra attention this week with speculation about the next-gen Nintendo Wii, a unique offer on the Xbox 360, and restoration issues for the PlayStation network. Android's WiFi security problem gets a fix, and the latest 3.1 Honeycomb update will be heading to the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Acer Iconia Tab A500 in June. Amazon is possibly ramping up a family of Android tablets, with the first two codenamed 'Coyote' and 'Hollywood' to hit the market before end of the year. Apple will be celebrating its 10th retail anniversary with a possible revamp dubbed Apple Store 2.0. The folks at Microsoft have released build 7720 for their Windows Phone mobile operating system internally this weekend, a leaked version of this full upgrade to what's otherwise known as Windows Phone Mango available now. This is NOT an official release from Microsoft as it's only been sent out internally, within the company, that meaning of course NOT FOR YOU! But that doesn't hold back the folks at XDA Developers does it? I think not. Hackers rejoice, today you may load an early version of the final Windows Phone Mango build on your devices.

No Windows Phone 7 App Hub royalties until Feb 2011 latest in developer woes

Microsoft has supposedly told Windows Phone 7 developers that they won't see any App Hub payments for paid-app sales until February 2011, according to coder Justin James, while the absence of any download feedback or analytics is leaving developers uncertain whether to continue investing in their software. Nicholas Yu, who created a Google Voice app for WP7 called GoVoice, has complained that responding to the number one feature request from users - push notifications - would require server investment that, with the limited tools Microsoft makes available, he cannot currently judge worthwhile.
