HTC Vigor Android Handset Appears in Leaked Photos

It appears that we're right now getting our first real-world look at the HTC Vigor, a device that's been rumored to be Verizon's follow-up device coming right after the DROID Bionic. This device appears in these photos to be a rather large display-having HTC device that's got HTC's Sense user interface aboard, four Android menu buttons across the bottom front letting us know that it's still going to be running something before Ice Cream Sandwich, a front-facing camera, a back-facing camera with dual-LED flash, a lovely speaker grill on the front, two mics on the back for noise cancellation, another speaker grill in the back near the bottom, the HTC logo nicely framed on the back by ribs that cover the palm of the area where your hand will be resting, and - what's that - a red rim around the camera lens.

HTC calls out Apple for competing in courts, not on products

HTC calls out Apple for competing in courts, not on products

HTC has officially commented on yesterday's news that Apple has added a fresh batch of patent infringement allegations to the ongoing legal action between the two companies, telling SlashGear that it "vehemently denies" all of Apple's claims. "HTC is dismayed" the company's general counsel, Grace Lei says, "that Apple has resorted to competition in the courts rather than the market place." As expected, the second set of claims detail HTC's more recent devices, including the EVO 4G and HTC Flyer tablet.

HTC Keynote at Uplinq 2011: NFC, Cloud Data, 4G

HTC Keynote at Uplinq 2011: NFC, Cloud Data, 4G

The event on the 2nd of June, 2011 began with the CEO of HTC Peter Chou taking the stage and speaking about no less than "Digital Mobile Lifestyle." This of course builds on the extended Qualcomm keynote yesterday that included much talk about the Digital 6th Sense. They note that in 1999 HTC developed their first smartphone enabling qulcomm to partner with HTC, and that in 2010 25m smartphone shipped with over 100% growth. That number is blasted again by 9.7 million being shipped in Q1 of 2011, Tripling sales. They then launch into Sense (HTC Sense, that is, of course.)

HTC Sensation bucks Android trend with anti-mod bootloader

HTC Sensation bucks Android trend with anti-mod bootloader

This is going to be really bad news for fans of Android smartphones that are waiting with anticipation for the HTC Sensation to hit. A new system dump has been unearthed, and the dump shows that the Sensation has a locked bootloader. That means that it will be very difficult if not impossible for owners of the phone to use custom ROMs and other programming on the device. The really strange part about this is that the recent trend in the Android market is towards phone makers offering unlocked bootloaders.

HTC Arrive Review

HTC Arrive Review

The following is an account of the HTC Arrive being handled by your humble narrator Chris Burns, a fellow who before handling this phone had literally never worked with Window Phone 7 before save for a couple of small interactions here or there. Therefor what you'll get is a thorough assessment of the hardware and a review of what I see as the future of mobile computing as it applies to Microsoft as well as the potential Windows Phone 7 has in a largely Android and iOS dominated market - and why with a little adjustment here or there, WP7 may dominate.

HTC Incredible S Review

HTC Incredible S Review

The first of HTC's new range from Mobile World Congress last month, and tracing a direct line back to a handset almost 12 months old, the HTC Incredible S should on paper leave us cold. Packing neither the huge screen of the Touch HD, nor running the latest OS like the imminent Desire S, it's a single-core phone in what's fast shaping up to be a dual-core world. Thing is, underdog devices have a habit of surprising you, and the Incredible S is no different. Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

HTC HD7S Windows Phone 7 Hands-On

HTC HD7S Windows Phone 7 Hands-On

The S is for Super LCD! That's what we were told right before we ran head-first to the back of the AT&T party we were at on the first official night of CTIA 2011. It was at the back of this party that we were given the opportunity to indulge in the HTC HD7S is another addition to HTC's portfolio of gigantic 4.3-inch screen devices, this one with a 1 GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash on the back, and WVGA Super LCD display on the front. This phone feels VERY familiar, and lovers of the wave of 4.3" screens HTC's been rolling out recently should feel satisfied with looks!
