HTC EVO 4G is Sprint’s First 4G Handset, With Android 2.1 and a Kickstand
The HTC Supersonic is one of those devices that's been rumored about for awhile now, and even managed to get some random shaky-cam shots of it out into the wild at one point or another. And one of the main rumors swirling around about the device was that it was going to be officially announced by Sprint at this year's CTIA conference. HTC's WiMAX-packing Supersonic has been something of a regular when it comes to the rumor-mill over the past few months, and it seems Sprint may be ramping up to an announcement next week. According to the WSJ's "people familiar with the matter", the Supersonic - expected to be an Android 2.1 device with a 4.3-inch display - will make its debut at CTIA 2010.

This leaked video via Youtube has everyone clearly perplexed as to what exactly the video is of, but we’ve narrowed it down to either the never-before-seen Supersonic, or the similarly outfitted Incredible, both high-power smartphones from HTC.
Sprint 4G WiMAX phone coming 1H 2010
That Sprint have been working on a 4G handset isn't much of a surprise - after all, they have a steadily growing WiMAX network and we've seen leaked roadmap details tipping an HTC Android smartphone using 4G - but the carrier has now confirmed that the first device will in fact launch before the end of June 2010. Speaking to Forbes, the carrier's business market's president Paget Alves suggested that the Sprint 4G phone would be targeted at government and industrial clients rather than solely at consumers.

Last we heard, HTC's Supersonic was a WiMAX smartphone headed for Sprint in the US and running the Android OS. No sign of it on the leaked 2010 HTC roadmap, but according to AndroidMobileOS you're looking at (grainy) shots of the smartphone in the wild.

HTC Android line-up tipped, including Legend & WiMAX Supersonic
References to seven unannounced HTC devices - including at least one, the HTC Legend, first spotted on the leaked 2010 HTC roadmap from late December 2009 - have been spotted in HTC user agent profiles, complete with keyboard and display details. CellPassion caught mention of the seven devices while digging through one of HTC's sites; in addition to the Legend, which is expected to replace the HTC Hero, there's also a version of the HTC Tattoo with a QWERTY keyboard.

HTC Supersonic is Sprint’s WiMAX Android A9292?
Mention of an HTC smartphone for Sprint, the HTC A9292, that apparently packs WiMAX had us scratching our heads earlier in the month, but according to Engadget it does have potential. Their "trusted source" has been spilling some details about the handset - apparently codenamed Supersonic - which will supposedly run Android 2.1 with HTC Sense and have a 4.3-inch display in a "svelte shell".

HTC Android device codenames unearthed in leaked ROM
The neat thing about leaked ROMs is that often there are tidbits about upcoming devices to be discovered among the tweaked functionality. Supposedly buried in the recent Hero Android 2.1 ROM from HTC is a long string of device codenames, some of which - like the Hero and Dream - we've seen already, but many of which are new or, until now, merely rumored.
