HTC Vivid Review

HTC Vivid Review

This month AT&T have revealed their first two 4G LTE devices, the Samsung Skyrocket and the HTC Vivid, the latter device being the one we're having a look at here today. This device is the next step in the HTC smartphone design evolution, and as you'll see in the video portion of the review below, it's almost as if they asked someone on the 3D mockup crew to cut off all the edges and make something sharp! We've already got AT&T 4G LTE speed tests from one of the few areas AT&T has its LTE network deployed (in Texas,) now it's time to see if the phone stands up to the pressure of the rest of the HTC family (and the rest of the AT&T family as well.)

HTC teases first Beats-enabled USA device with event invite

HTC teases first Beats-enabled USA device with event invite

In what very well may be an invitation to be the first to see the HTC Rezound, (aka the HTC Vigor,) HTC tells of their "latest innovation." What we've got here is an invite as sent out to press which has the reverberations of sound emanating from the "HTC INVITES YOU" text in green down to two logos, one for HTC, the other for Dr Dre's Beats. Beats and HTC joined forces several weeks ago in an effort to bring greater sound quality to HTC smartphones everywhere and we've already seen Beats on HTC in Europe - could this be the ushering in of fine quality music on smartphones right here in the states? Yes, I think so.

AT&T LG Optimus G Review

AT&T LG Optimus G Review

With the LG Optimus G, this OEM brings on its most powerful device by a long shot, with Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor inside and a 4.7-inch TrueHD IPS+ LCD display up front, this running on AT&T's 4G LTE network here in the USA. What we're seeing here is a device that's ever so slightly confused in its identity - with more power than it knows what to do with in a device that looks and feels fabulous, but is just a bit bigger and more slippery than a normal-sized human being will be comfortable holding. Perhaps this combination of looks and processing power are enough to convince us that LG has suddenly become as much of a top-tier contender in the USA as Samsung and Apple?

Motorola Atrix HD Review

It's time to get a bit of an upgrade in the world of the Atrix brand, this time with the Atrix HD, with Motorola bumping up the line with a next-generation processor, one of the most HD displays on earth, and a sleek new look. The front of the device has a lovely curved-edged pane of reinforced Gorilla Glass, the sides are white and black hard plastic, and the back is no less than a DuPont Kevlar fiber. The whole device has a splash-guard coating, inside you've got Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and Motorola's cool new user interface that's full of color.

AT&T Motorola ATRIX HD official with 720p ColorBoost display

This week the Motorola ATRIX HD has been revealed for AT&T's 4G LTE network with a massively high definition display and a dual-core processor under the hood. This device enters the ranks of the top 10 highest-definition display-having devices on the market at 329 PPI, only being beaten by the HTC Rezound, Sony XPERIA S, and LG LU1400 (a strange swivle-screen smartphone from 2008), and matching the LG Nitro HD - and yes, it beats the iPhone 4/4S. That's 1280 x 720 pixel resolution over a lovely 4.5-inch display that Motorola touts as 720p HD ColorBoost.

DROID Incredible 4G LTE Review

DROID Incredible 4G LTE Review

This week we've gotten the chance to take a peek at the next in a line of rather popular conservatively sized powerhouses from HTC, this time called the DROID Incredible 4G LTE. We've had a look at the Incredible 2 as well as the original DROID Incredible, now it's time to decide if this HTC One-era device is up to the task of bringing the DROID brand name back up to snuff. As Verizon has no other HTC One device, with T-Mobile and AT&T getting the prizes this time around from that manufacturer, it might be high time Big Red gets its own taste of the Sense (4.0, as seen in this hands-on with the HTC One S) we've been using for weeks.
