Sony Lens Cameras teased: attaching to all, from Xperia to iPhone

Sony Lens Cameras teased: attaching to all, from Xperia to iPhone

As tipped all the way back near the middle of July, Sony's Lens Cameras (DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100) once again appear to be upon us. These cameras are appearing in press images this afternoon courtesy of Sony Alpha Rumors both on their own and attached to the Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia i1, aka Honami. The DSC-QX10 as well as the DSC-QX100 will be working only when working with a Sony smartphone, meaning they've got their own hardware inside not normally found in the body of a replaceable lens system.

HTC One X+ Android 4.2.2 software update leaked: BlinkFeed and Zoe aboard

HTC One X+ Android 4.2.2 software update leaked: BlinkFeed and Zoe aboard

It would appear that HTC isn't going to keep a selection of key software features from its 2013 HTC One lineup here in the present if one (unofficial) software leak for the HTC One X+ has anything to say about it. Though Engadget's chat with HTC suggests that this software update is not one sent by HTC on purpose, it does exist. And the possibility that HTC could send out something rather similar officially, rather soon, is very real.

5500 miles with a smartphone

5500 miles with a smartphone

Smartphones are everywhere. We not only hear this (often with a negative connotation) in our everyday lives, but we witness it, too. It doesn’t matter where you go: to dinner, to the theater, to the bus stop, to the checkout line. It seems every hand holds a smartphone, and every eye is perpetually fixated upon them.

How deeply do smartphones influence and otherwise supplement our lives? Such is not a new question, but one I found myself asking with increasing frequency this summer during a near 40 day road trip from one end of the United States to the other. I spent 5500 miles with my smartphone, and for one drought-ridden summer in an old van it became my best friend, my personal navigator, my faithful mentor, my distraction, my solution, my lifeline - maybe even my crutch at times.

HTC One Max Robert Downey Jr full-length teaser appears [UPDATE]

While just a couple of bits and pieces were spilled yesterday, overnight it would appear that HTC made with the full-length video spot for their newest campaign entitled "Big Things Ahead." They also use the tag #HTChange, a single iteration of the multi-word collection of possibilities for what H.T.C. could stand for. It's also been suggested that this advertisement teases not only the HTC One Max, but the oncoming brand embodiment by Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man himself.

HTC One Max appears in early testing

HTC One Max appears in early testing

If you're not all about the smaller iteration of the HTC One in the most recent release from the company in the HTC One Mini, it would appear that HTC is also headed in the opposite direction with a bit more of a palm-filler. This device is tipped as the HTC One Max, bringing a 5.9-inch display to the market (we must assume) sooner than later, aimed directly at the likes of Samsung's own plus-sized hero in the Samsung Galaxy Note III.

Verizon HTC One release date moved to August 15th

Though we'd seen this machine in a leaked roadmap pinning it for the first of August of this year, the Verizon HTC One has appeared bumped to the middle of the month instead. What we're assuming here is that the move has a lot to do with the oncoming push for the Motorola Moto X. There's also the Motorola lineup of DROID devices coming to the carrier, each of them set for release inside August as well.

Nexus 7 2013 vs iPad mini: more than a pixel race

Nexus 7 2013 vs iPad mini: more than a pixel race

If you're getting ready to buy a brand new tablet on the smaller end of the spectrum and you're deciding between the new Nexus 7 and the iPad mini, you may very well be asking yourself the wrong question. This comparison goes well beyond the basics - screen sharpness, body size, and processing power - and it's not just about Android vs iOS, either. Unless you're just planning on browsing the web, these two tablets are cut from completely different bits of cloth.

Verizon HTC One prepares for civil war: here’s what it’s up against

If you're planning on picking up the Verizon iteration of the HTC One, you'll do well to know the battle said phone will be facing when it appears amongst the 4G LTE smartphone ranks of the big red carrier. What we've done here is to run down the rest of the devices that will be carried by Verizon at the time the HTC One will be released (likely August 1st) [UPDATE: Now more likely August 15th], along with reviews if we've got them (if they're on the market already, that is), or connections to information on potential specifications if they're not.
