Android HTC Dragon, 4.3-inch WinMo Huashan tipped in Dopod roadmap

Talk of the HTC Dragon has been minimal since the Nexus One grabbed the limelight earlier this year, but a leaked Dopod roadmap for 2010 has reignited some of that old speculation.  According to their timetable, the Dragon is set to arrive in China come Q2 2010, complete with Android, a 3.6-inch WVGA display and HSDPA.  It'll have company, too; shortly after comes the A6388, a smaller, cheaper 3.4-inch HVGA HSDPA Android device.

HTC Dragon has been in testing at Google for weeks; release imminent?

Things have been quiet on HTC's Snapdragon Android plans since CEO Peter Chou squashed talk of an Android-based HD2, but that hasn't stopped "senior Android guys" from carrying around such a handset for at least the past few weeks.  According to TechCrunch, the so-called HTC Dragon or HTC Passion is expected to hit shelves very soon, and will likely be thinner than the Motorola DROID or the Apple iPhone 3GS together with including Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon chipset.

There just seem to be no end to the controversy that looms over the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 like the sword of Damocles. Varying reports, varying experiences, and varying OEM support all cast a cloud of doubt over the chip. Supposedly, salvation would come from a certain version 2.1 of the embattled processor, but now it seems that even that is for naught. HTC's own Jeff Gordon publicly reveals that the One M9 already runs on v2.1, which, sadly, only reaffirms suspicions that the SD810 is a lost cause.

HTC One S launched in Taiwan with Snapdragon S3

Typically these days we see different SoCs being used in phones due to LTE incompatibility, but the Taiwanese HTC One S may not be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor due to a possible supply shortage, which would make sense: it’s a heavily sought after chip, used in several high-end smartphones this year. The Taiwanese model will instead use a Snapdragon S3 dual-core chip clocked at 1.7Ghz.

HTC Evo 4G LTE announced with Snapdragon S4

The newest HTC handset this week (after two HTC One heroes, no less), is the HTC Evo 4G LTE, the second device on the market with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core chipset. This device will have the Snapdragon S4 MSM8960, also known as the first 28nm mobile processor on Earth, and will be rolling out with HD Voice capabilities.
