HTC Mini is your Butterfly’s candybar remote control and handset

HTC doesn't have a smartwatch like the Pebble, but it does have the HTC Mini, an NFC-equipped remote control and handset accessory which will be exclusively offered in China alongside the HTC Butterfly. The svelte handset - resembling an old candybar-style dumbphone - hooks up via Bluetooth to your Butterfly, so HTC suggests, and can be used for making calls without pulling the smartphone out of your pocket, as well as other things.

HTC One KitKat software update assured by end of January

While the world is left in shock by the fact that the Verizon version of the Motorola-made Moto X saw the Android 4.4 KitKat update before the rest of the Nexus family, HTC has assured that the HTC One will be next. They've made this re-assurance in the form of a mini-tweet and subsequent push on the idea that their 90-day promise would be met. That's 90-days after the reveal of Android 4.4 KitKat that their HTC One hero phone would be rolling smooth with the candy layout.

Verizon HTC One Max appears ready for Winter

Verizon HTC One Max appears ready for Winter

This holiday season you may well be looking to grab the larger relative smartphone of the HTC One from Verizon, so says a leaked set of photos showing this HTC One Max with its much-more-massive display and the carrier's logo up front. This would be an odd move for Verizon as they waited until the DROID DNA - aka the massive Butterfly S from overseas here in the USA - to expire before they released the HTC One. It would be strange because the HTC One Max might compete with the HTC One - but then again, so does the Galaxy Note 3 compete with the Samsung Galaxy S 4.

HTC One Max appears in early testing

HTC One Max appears in early testing

If you're not all about the smaller iteration of the HTC One in the most recent release from the company in the HTC One Mini, it would appear that HTC is also headed in the opposite direction with a bit more of a palm-filler. This device is tipped as the HTC One Max, bringing a 5.9-inch display to the market (we must assume) sooner than later, aimed directly at the likes of Samsung's own plus-sized hero in the Samsung Galaxy Note III.

Verizon HTC One prepares for civil war: here’s what it’s up against

If you're planning on picking up the Verizon iteration of the HTC One, you'll do well to know the battle said phone will be facing when it appears amongst the 4G LTE smartphone ranks of the big red carrier. What we've done here is to run down the rest of the devices that will be carried by Verizon at the time the HTC One will be released (likely August 1st) [UPDATE: Now more likely August 15th], along with reviews if we've got them (if they're on the market already, that is), or connections to information on potential specifications if they're not.

HTC One 2 “M8″ expected as 2014 flagship smartphone

This week it's becoming clear that the company that set its sights on a single machine to turn around fortunes through the 2013 smartphone season will be bringing an HTC One reboot by the end of the year. It's not a solid announcement, of course, and HTC isn't saying so officially quite yet, but in addition to a reboot of the One that's lead the way through the past bunch of months, the company is being tipped to bring an HTC M8 to the public in 2014.

HTC 8XT brings BoomSound July 19th, ATIV Odyssey tags along today

It's not the most one-shot of launches, but it would appear that these brothers-in-arms from HTC and Samsung are headed to the market together to bring Windows Phone 8 to the masses this summer. While Samsung aims for a slightly more familiar face with the ATIV Odyssey starting today (online) for its 4G LTE-slinging US Cellular iteration, the HTC device will have to wait a bit longer. But what HTC brings to the party may just be worth that wait - the most powerful front-facing speakers on a smartphone in the market, only otherwise available on the HTC One (and the Butterfly S, of course).
