We're big fans of leaked smartphone photographs around here and today a new leak has surfaced showing off an unannounced HTC smartphone. The photographs aren't of the complete device itself, but rather the photos are of the front panel for the HTC Butterfly 2. The original HTC Butterfly launched last year and sold as the Droid DNA in the US.

It's time to have a peek at the HTC Butterfly S once again, this time seeing how this DROID DNA-sized smartphone works with all the features of the HTC One along with not just one, but two SIM cards at once. There's a bit of a "must have" feature out there for much of the world outside the USA, and that is the aforementioned ability to work with more than on SIM card at once, holding both of these micro-SIM-sized cards under the hood at once as well. This device is also appearing this week for the first time in black.

HTC Butterfly S: So close, yet so far (away)

HTC's original J Butterfly was a phone of firsts for the company, most notably the 1080p display. It may not have been the only phone to feature Full HD resolution, but it pushed HTC back into the limelight and helped us forget devices like the Sensation XL, which got the big-display part right but then dropped the ball in terms of resolution. Of course, with limited Butterfly availability outside of Asia, we had to wait several months until the HTC One to get our fix of 1080p HTC. Now, just as One supplies are finally catching up, the Butterfly S comes along to show us that yes, HTC can fit it all into a single device, it just probably won't sell it to you.

HTC Butterfly S official: UltraPixel, 3,200mAh battery, more

HTC has taken the wraps off of the Butterfly S, the follow-up to its first 1080p Butterfly smartphone, and now pumped up with features like UltraPixel from the HTC One. The new Butterfly S has a 5-inch, 1080p Super LCD 3 display, using optical lamination and scratch-resistant glass to best present its 440ppi resolution, and has a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera on the back supporting HTC Zoe.

HTC Butterfly X920e heading for China this month; 3G Butterfly goes global

On October 17, HTC rolled out the J Butterfly smartphone, a behemoth of a handset with a stunning 5-inch display and excellent hardware to round it out. That handset was a Japan-only release, with the device making its way to the United States as the Droid DNA. Now users in China will be able to get their hands on the Butterfly in a couple weeks. It also looks like the handset will be launched internationally as the HTC Butterfly with 3G connectivity.

Now that we’re just weeks away from the launch of the all new HTC One, it’s become apparent that HTC might continue their spread of the goodness to other high-end devices. One of those may very well be another HTC Butterfly S - also known as the DROID DNA here in the USA.
