In addition to the ProPad 600 introduced today, HP has rolled out the red carpet for its 'total business solution' slate, the HP ElitePad 1000 G2. With the ElitePad 1000 comes a svelte design at 9.2mm thin and 1.5lbs, as well as Windows 8.1 Pro and options for enterprise users.
This week HP released details on how they'd continue to release devices with the Windows 7 operating system onboard. This is far from unheard of in the PC universe, with major PC manufacturers releasing devices with multiple operating systems - whatever the consumer wants, in the end. HP was quickly questioned on how they could possibly stop supporting devices with Windows 8 aboard, to which they responded: "WE ARE NOT DROPPING WINDOWS 8."
HP has brought back a Windows 7 option "by popular demand", offering desktop and notebook PCs with Microsoft's old OS amid patchy public support for Windows 8. The range of five computers spans an entry-level Pavilion desktop through to ENVY performance towers and both Pavilion and ENVY laptops, with HP even offering a $150 saving to sweeten the deal.
Coming out of CES 2014, Panasonic has introduced their latest model Toughpad. This one is arriving as the FZ-M1, and similar to other models in the lineup, this one is fully-rugged. Basically, another waterproof, dustproof and shockproof tablet. The FZ-M1 sports a 7-inch display and will arrive running Windows 8.1 Pro.
