HP's Slate series of tablets is getting ideas above its station, with the new HP Slate 21 trying to edge in on the company's all-in-one range. The odd hybrid runs Android on an NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip, rather than Windows as you might expect from an HP all-in-one PC, and is fronted by a 21.5-inch Full HD touchscreen with ten-finger multitouch support. HP is planning on shifting its attention from the PC industry to the tablet industry. It has already started on this transition by announcing its new HP Slate 7 tablet, a $169 budget tablet that will definitely catch the eyes of consumers, and also make it a decent competitor to Amazon's line of 7-inch Kindle tablets. While it is $10 more than the cheapest 7-inch Kindle Fire, it does have the benefit of running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The former smartphone manufacturer and current PC giant HP has once again been reported to be dipping in to the smart mobile device market, this time running Android. HP is the once-proud purchaser of the smart device group by the name of Palm, having in the past created a collection of smartphones and one infamous tablet (the HP TouchPad) running a mobile operating system called WebOS. Panasonic expands Toughpad tablet line with FZ-G1 and JT-B1

Panasonic has announced a pair of new tablet computers at CES 2013 that fall into to the company's ruggedized Toughpad line. The tablets include the new 10-inch FZ-G1 Windows 8 Pro tablet and the JT-B1 Android tablet. Panasonic says that both of these tablets followed the original 10-inch Android-powered Toughpad FZ-A1 that launched last year.
