Dell and HP tablets delayed: Intel chip test trouble blamed

Dell and other Windows 8 tablet manufacturers are apparently experiencing unexpected problems with drivers for their new touchscreen slates, insiders claim, forcing delays of certain models into early 2013. The Dell Latitude 10 and other Intel Atom Z2760 based tablets are now not expected until late January, with sources telling InformationWeek that the problem is in getting sufficiently stable drivers for the power-frugal Clover Trail processors to meet Microsoft's licensing standards.

Mystery HP tablet spotted again in official picture

Mystery HP tablet spotted again in official picture

Just last week we saw a mysterious HP tablet spotted in one of the company’s commercials, with almost no information to go along with the leak. The logical conclusion was that the device was a new Windows 8 tablet, details of which had been leaked in a presentation slide back in April, and now the tablet has revealed itself yet again in an image found on HP’s website. The slate seems to be a part of HP’s “Make It Matter” campaign, and judging from the personnel using the tablet in this new image and the previous video, it’s a business oriented device.

HP Pavilion tx2500 hands-on report: Most promising HP tablet yet

HP Pavilion tx2500 hands-on report: Most promising HP tablet yet

Out of the multitude of new notebooks HP announced yesterday, only one was a pen-enabled Tablet PC.  Lest you think the company is leaving the format behind, however, it's turning out to be one heck of a tablet.  The Pavilion tx2500 uses a 12.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) dual-touch display (which responds to both an accurate, wireless, battery-free pen, and to a finger) and AMD's latest Puma platformTabletPCReview had a chance for some hands-on time with the tx2500, and their first impressions are very good.

HP’s $299 Pavilion x2 tablet hybrid blew me away

HP’s $299 Pavilion x2 tablet hybrid blew me away

Making a sleek tablet with a detachable keyboard isn’t tough, but making one with both style and an affordable price tag takes another level of commitment. HP believes it has just the thing, however, in the shape of the new HP Pavilion x2. A 10-inch Windows tablet with a magnetically-clinging keyboard, USB-C, and over 10hrs of battery life, it’s hard not to see Microsoft’s Surface 3 right in HP’s sights. Surprisingly, though, the Pavilion x2 will start at under $300.

HP 10 Plus Android tablet arrives as rumored

HP 10 Plus Android tablet arrives as rumored

This past summer rumbles surfaced stating HP had a trio of new tablets in the works, and among those three new tablets was one called the HP 10 Plus. That leak turned out to be true, and HP has introduced that Android tablet model with little (read: none) fanfare. The tablet has surfaced on Amazon, where it is still located -- whether it was supposed to launch and HP is just staying incredibly quiet about its arrival, or this was a premature launch, isn't known at this point.
