HP webOS tablet due March 2011 tips analyst

HP's first webOS-based tablet has found itself a launch window, though the timings are guesstimates from analyst digging rather than any official word from the company itself. Having met with Asian tech sources recently, BMO Capital Markets analyst Keith Bachman believes the webOS tablet will arrive in March 2011; so far, HP has only confirmed that the slate is on track for release sometime in 2011.

HP Slate Poses for Leaked Photos

The HP Slate may not be all the rage anymore, but that's not stopping HP from releasing it. Last we heard, pertaining to which markets HP would be aiming for, the Slate tablet device would be aimed primarily for the enterprise consumer, and not necessarily targeted towards the masses. After we got a glimpse of the device on video (which was subsequently pulled soon after), the upcoming HP Slate stands at the ready for some spy shots, which have made their way onto the Internet (as usual).

Sony SRS-V500IP travel mug speaker system arrives in US

You'd be forgiven for thinking this was a combination cup-holder and iPod dock, but in actual fact the Sony SRS-V500IP gives speakers a travel-mug style update.  Inside lurks the company's 360-degree "Circle Sound Stage" system, promising to spread the audio from the 16W stereo speakers so that everyone around you can enjoy it, while the "mug" itself can be removed and used with an in-car power adapter, slotting neatly into a cupholder.

While the future of HP's Windows 7 slate apparently hangs in the balance, MSI are supposedly gung-ho about their own tablet running the Microsoft OS.  According to DigiTimes' sources, the company will bring the MSI Slatebook to Computex 2010 in early June.  Based, so "sources at notebook players" would have it, on Intel's Menlow Atom Z5xx processor range (not the newer Moorestown Z6xx chips), the Slatebook apparently has a 10-inch display and integrated WiFi and 3G.

HP Windows 7 Tablet mystery continues [Update: Development on “hold”]

Speculation around HP's tablet continues, with the company still yet to step up and confirm whether or not the project has been canned.  After a report last week suggested that the Windows 7 slate had been axed shortly after HP's acquisition of Palm, followed by a contrary report supposedly from a source within HP, the Mercury News is quoting analyst Ezra Gottheil who still expects the tablet to see a commercial launch.
