HP Pavilion dm1 ultraportable gets official price and launch date

Back in January at CES, we laid hands and eyes briefly on the HP Pavilion dm1. It's been a long time since CES, but we are finally getting the official launch date and price on the little notebook computer. The little notebook is aimed at the consumer and has some nice features. The dm1 gets the HP Soft-touch imprint design, Beats audio tech, and the HP Premiere Experience. That last bit is some sort of exclusive innovation to improve the Windows experience.

HP has unveiled one of their first AMD Fusion APU based notebooks, the HP Pavilion dm1, an 11.6-inch ultraportable using the E-350 dual-core 1.6GHz processor, Radeon HD 6310M graphics and a 320GB hard-drive. The Pavilion dm1 has a 1366 x 768 display, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and gigabit ethernet, as well as up to 8GB of RAM (3GB standard), and while it may look like a netbook there's still an HDMI output for Full HD video.

HP Pavilion DM1 gets reviewed: decent battery but cramped keyboard

HP's Pavilion DM1 is still yet to show up for pre-order on the company's US site (though the support pages are full of information) but that hasn't stopped Netbooked from grabbing one of the 11.6-inch ultraportables for review.  They reckon the DM1 "fares decently" among its peers, though they're not impressed by the amount of screen flex on show (you can press the trackpad buttons by pushing down on the edge of the lid when closed).

Today, HP announced the pricing and availability of a large portfolio of various Windows 8 PCs, as well as a tablet. Some of these products have previously been available with Windows 7, and have been relaunched for the latest upcoming Windows operating system. The devices utilize HP's TouchSmart technology, and offer features such as Snapfish and HP Connected Music. Now, in a press release, HP has announced the devices' pricing and availability.

Verizon Wireless revealed on Tuesday that they'd be releasing the world's first 4G LTE enabled notebook, it being the model dm1-3010nr HP Pavillion. This notebook was revealed at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, aka CES 2011, now officially prepared for release by HP and Verizon on July 28th, a big launch day for Verizon as they also have prepared the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE for this Thursday as well. This device will have 4G LTE capability built in, runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit out of the box, and is 1.2-inches thin.
