It's Titanfall Beta day - and also Valentine's Day - but mostly Titanfall Beta day, and you're going to find one whole heck of a lot of people today looking for codes. While there is still a normal sign-up for Titanfall's Beta release out there, there's also a bunch of users in the wild with codes to give out - grab one! Halo: Spartan Assault for Xbox One lands December 24th

Halo: Spartan Assault for Xbox One will land on December 24th, Microsoft has confirmed, though Xbox 360 owners will have to wait into the new year to get their hands on the much-anticipated game. The title - which slots in-between the plots of Halo 3 and Halo 4 in the in-game universe - will be offered as a digital download for the next-gen console, after having gone on sale for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 users earlier in 2013, though there'll be some new tweaks to suit the Xbox One.

Halo series tops 46 million sales worldwide

Halo series tops 46 million sales worldwide

It should be pretty obvious by this point that Halo is a huge franchise, but today Microsoft is giving us an idea of just how huge it actually is. According to the company, the Halo franchise has hit 46 million sales worldwide, which certainly isn't anything to scoff at. Those 46 million sales have generated a whopping $3 billion in revenue, so don't expect Microsoft to lay off the franchise anytime soon.

Halo won’t hit Android any time soon

Halo won’t hit Android any time soon

It should come as no surprise that Microsoft wasn't about to release their full-fledged first-person shooter Halo game to the mobile universe straight away. Instead - as was planned and on the books for months - the first Halo game to be released to the mobile universe was Halo: Spartan Strike, and it was released for Windows Phone, Windows 8, and Xbox One and 360 all at the same time. Now we're seeing both that game and the new Halo: Spartan Assault appear for iOS, PC, and Xbox One all at the same time.

Halo: Spartan Strike launches on multiple platforms

Microsoft Studios is once again expanding its Halo franchise beyond genres and beyond platforms. It has just announced the launch of Halo: Spartan Strike, actually its second top-down shooter game that eschews the FPS conventions of the main titles. And also unlike the main titles, which are mostly confined to Xbox consoles, Spartan Strike is available for a whole lot more platforms and devices, including the iPad, the iPhone, Windows 8, Steam, and even Windows Phone. Curiously, there is still no sign of an Android port.

Halo sort of released for iPhone and iPad

Halo sort of released for iPhone and iPad

Two different Halo games have been released by Microsoft to the iOS device ecosystem this week. The first is Halo: Spartan Assault, a top-down action battle sort of game - the other is... another game with nearly the same title and almost identical gameplay. That'll be Halo: Spartan Strike. Both games include 30 levels of gameplay and have the same price point. Note - if you will - that these aren't the same sort of game that you'll be playing in first person on your Xbox One - they're a completely different sort of Halo.
