It appears that at least one coffee shop has decided to forgo the big bang reveal of today's launch of Google Wallet by placing their official "tap here" signs on their Vivo paypass-capable machines. All you've got to do is Tap and pay with your NFC-enabled credit card OR your smartphone using Google Wallet - adding that you should simply go to Google.com/wallet for more information if you're not already in the know. We know from earlier today that the launch is very likely for later today and of course that the NFC-based mobile money service will be popping up imminently one way or another.

The Dealmap Acquired by Google

Google has today acquired Dealmap, a start-up whose main function is to aggregate discounts from hundreds of group-buying sites. This acquisition may well prove to add on to Google's recently launched service in Google Offers or may stay a completely separate entity tied in to Google through simple check-ins. The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that Dealmap will join Google's local incentives and commerce group. Time to take on Groupon after all?

The app makes it easy to find more information on the products in front of you while you shop. It recognizes cover art, barcodes, and supports voice and text search to bring you relevant local versus online pricing, reviews, videos, and other specs. And now, it will also let you find deals nearby while you're on the go.
