, May 10th 2012 Discuss [0]

It’s hard to argue with free, especially when it comes to Google’s Navigation app for Android. The built in maps functionality will just about get the job done on iOS too, but CoPilot is throwing the gauntlet down with its latest news. CoPilot GPS will be made available for free on both iOS and Android, competing directly against Google, and sending a warning shot in TomTom’s general direction. Read The Full Story

With a combination of some incredible software and hardware engineering, using processes developed by both Google and the best and brightest of DARPA’s robotic race challenges.

My wallet is open, Google, now hand over Project Glass

, Apr 4th 2012 Discuss [0]

Project Glass has opened my eyes and my wallet: Google, please, come help yourself to my credit card. The much-rumored wearable augmented reality system has emerged from the Google[x] skunkworks and it’s even more than we hoped for. No clunky headset like a bad pair of swollen sunglasses, but a sleek slice of transparent display with just enough Star Trek: TNG hints to keep the geeks happy. With a concept video and a handful of rumors, though, there are still plenty of questions remaining. Google hasn’t talked technology regarding Project Glass, focusing instead on the potential user experience, but there’s enough here to slot together a few suggestions.

Sony Vita OS Review

, Feb 21st 2012 Discuss [0]

This week we’re getting our first look at the Sony PS Vita, a device which is set to be officially set in stores for sale tomorrow, and the first live version of Vita OS. What the Vita operating system represents is not only a new look at handheld gaming, but the prospect of an operating system that is all Sony’s own, and as Chris Davies will tell you, one that’s more than ready to take on more screens than just the PS Vita. What we’ll do here for you is run down and review the operating system on its own as well as specifically as it exists here in its first iteration: on the PS Vita portable PlayStation certified gaming system from Sony.

BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9981 Review

, Feb 14th 2012 Discuss [0]

At first glance, Porsche Design and BlackBerry might not make obvious bed-fellows. Still, the car firm’s aesthetically-obsessed arm has taken up with Canada’s finest, and the Porsche Design P’9981 is the result: maple syrup by way of Stuttgart. The less forgiving might draw comparisons between Porsche’s legendary reluctance to diverge from its original 1963 car design, and BlackBerry’s struggle to break free of its old OS. The frugal will likely be too busy gaping at the $2,350 price tag. So, Porsche or Pinto? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.
