Google Drive downtime issue UPDATE: Resolved

This morning there was an issue with connectivity for users hoping to access the file storage system known as Google Drive. Responsiveness in app systems such as Gmail, Google Reader, and Google Docs have been lacking throughout the morning, but Google's official report now suggests that all problems have been fixed up real nice. Meanwhile Google has been tipped to be starting up a competitor for Evernote and OneNote in the wake of their shutdown (not quite deactivated as yet) of Google Reader.

Google investigating Google Drive downtime [Update: Fix in progress]

Google is looking into complaints that Google Drive is experiencing issues of downtime or extreme sluggishness today, with availability of the cloud-based storage system patchy in the US and abroad. Complaints around Drive access began in the early hours of the morning, though it's only within the past half hour or so that Google has acknowledged the problem. "We're investigating reports of an issue with Google Drive" the company confirmed on its service status page, promising to "provide more information shortly."

Google is constantly improving their seamless integration between their various services, and today they've focused on Gmail and Google Drive. It's time to get serious once again about cross-use between Google services right here with Google Drive and the company's social network Google+ - from one to the other! The announcement today is that the media you upload to your Google Drive account from whatever source you've got - be it your smartphone, your tablet, your Chromebook, or your desktop computer - can now be viewed from Google+ and shared directly as well! Google is making the case once again that it simply makes more sense - ie is easier - to use all Google all the time.
