This year at CES we saw one whole heck of a lot of PCs, quite a few of them working with Windows 8 - but most of them focusing on their unique hardware offerings to the point where Microsoft's offering seemed almost secondary. One cannot deny the influence of the touch-friendly nature of Windows 8 on the other hand, and starting right away with the very first PC we had hands-on time with, touchscreen controls were right at the center of our attention: the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC is first on our list of hands-on deliveries.

If we were to list the companies that have enjoyed a really, really big CES 2013, NVIDIA would probably rank toward the top. Not only did the company announce new and interesting things like GeForce Experience and NVIDIA GRID, but it also unleashed the Tegra 4 mobile processor on the world and introduced us to Project SHIELD, a new Android-based gaming console of sorts that has everyone talking.

This afternoon started with a bang, with Spotify holding a press conference to announce a number of things. Perhaps most importantly, the service has 1 million paying subscribers in the US, with 5 million worldwide. The company also launched Spotify Collections and the Spotify Music Graph today, announcing a new web app for all users too. Finally, we found out that Metallica's full catalog of music has been added to Spotify, so all of you metal fans have a reason to celebrate this evening.

Final Oculus Rift specs revealed for 2016 consumer model

Oculus reveals the final hardware and software specifications for their long-awaited Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. This machine works with a three-part system, starting with the headset itself, fully capable of the highest-end virtual reality experience on the market at the time it's being revealed. This machine requires that the user have a computer with Windows 7 SP1 or newer with 8GB RAM or more, Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater, and either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater. They'll also need HDMI 1.3 video output to connect to the headset, and 2x USB 3.0 ports for peripherals.

MSI showcases new gaming laptops at Computex 2015

Most people use desktop PC's for gaming, but MSI's latest gaming laptops aim to give you desktop computing power in a compact form. At the Computex trade show in Taiwan, MSI introduces new models designed to mirror desktop performance. MSI showcased the GT72, a 17.3-inch gaming laptop, which uses an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 8GB GDDR5 graphics card. This machine also features G-SYNC technology which is designed to minimize input lag and display stutter while eliminating screen tearing. The fast refresh rates should create a smoother gaming experience.

Earlier this week, Epic Games announced that WETA Digital had created a VR experience for The Hobbit. This collaboration is called "Thief in the Shadows", and was the combined efforts of Epic Games, WETA Digital, NVIDIA, and Oculus, and it'd bring the wearer to the Lonely Mountain, put in place of Bilbo Baggins as he (the wearer of the Oculus VR headset) encounters the dragon Smaug for the first time. Oh, Stupendous One, how awesome it is to look upon your face from such a realistic perspective.
