Fujitsu Windows 7 Tablet concepts previewed

, Oct 8th 2010 Discuss [0]

Fujitsu's dual-display phone wasn't the only prototype the company had on show at CEATEC 2010 this week; the company also brought along a couple of tablet mockups.  Neither of the unnamed slates were functional - in fact the Windows desktops were printed onto stickers and pasted onto the front of the plastic slabs - but that didn't stop NetbookNews snapping some photos. Fujitsu UH900 manual prompts convertible tablet version confusion

, Jan 19th 2010 Discuss [1]

While the Fujitsu UH900 did enough to reasonably impress us back at CES 2010, one of the more confusing design decisions the company made was to junk the convertible form-factor that had been used on previous Fujitsu UMPCs.  Going by a snippet from the user-guide, however, that might not always have been the case; a Pocketables reader spotted what looks like partial instructions for how to safely rotate a touchscreen without damaging it or the keyboard. Fujitsu LifeBook N7010 with integrated 4-inch touchscreen

, Nov 4th 2008 Discuss [0]

The U820 isn't the only fresh Fujitsu today with a touchscreen: the LifeBook N7010 is a regular 16-inch 16:9 notebook but it also has a 4-inch touchscreen embedded above the keyboard.  This sub-display - which Fujitsu are calling the "Touch Zone" - can be treated as an extension of the main screen, with apps dragged 'down' to it, or be used as a toolbox for app controls or media playback buttons.  Under the hood there's a Core 2 Duo P8400 processor running at 2.26GHz, ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics with 256MB GDDR3, and a Blu-ray drive. Fujitsu's U2010, the convertible UMPC based on Intel's Atom CPU, has made it to the FCC with a few testing photos and a new name.  As could have been predicted the UMPC will launch in the US as the U820, where it will have a 5.6-inch, 1,280 x 800 resolution touchscreen and six-row QWERTY keyboard.  Given that the FCC label claims the U820 "contains UMTS" it looks as though the devices 3G WWAN modem has made it over too.
