GameStop now selling game-packed Android tablets from Samsung, Acer, and ASUS

Starting today it appears that GameStop is taking their mobile initiative through a whole new door, not just offering one single tablet (the iPad), but four, the other three being special edition Android tablets from Acer, ASUS, and Samsung. While each of the tablets will be essentially the same sticker price they would be at competing retailers, each comes with a set of seven free games including Dead Space and Madden 12. These tablets are not brand new models, but the game deal certainly is.

CERN Launches Open Source Hardware Project

The folks who brought you the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the experiments therein are now working to bring you an OHR, aka an Open Hardware Repository for all the collaborative electronics design you could possibly handle. For those of you that don’t know, CERN also has their very own Linux distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux known as Scientific Linux CERN. It was the productivity of this project that inspired this newest effort, the group hoping now to bring this open source software development model to the hardware world.

Welcome to this week's edition of the SlashGear Week in Review. With Computex 2011 going on there were all sorts of new gadgets and other gear being unveiled at the show and lots more going on during the week. Monday we learned that the Samsung Galaxy S II had sold 1 million units in Korea. That number is a record and it took the original Galaxy S 70 days to sell a million units.
