Diablo 3 Barbarian QcK Mousepad Released by SteelSeries

People still use mousepads? Wait, what's that, people still use a mouse to click things on their computer screen? Man, it's been so long since I've used a desktop for anything day-to-day that it threw me for a loop seeing this SteelSeries QcK Diablo 3 Barbarian Edition mousepad. It's the latest in what I'd call a very limited promotion of Diablo 3, the game that's been on all Diablo 2 fanatics minds for what seems like decades. Perhaps this portends a release inside the next few years.

So it's that time again, that time when the longest amount of wait begins before BlizzCon comes again. That's right! It's time for the BlizzCon wrap-up video. This is Blizzard Entertainment's biggest event of the year, a place where they announce all their sweet spots and bring out the big guns as far as presenting what they've got coming up, then they have Tenacious D play some magical metal.

Diablo III Beta Testing: Yes, Finally, For Real, at BlizzCon

Blizzcon attendees were given some undeniably exciting news: from amongst them, 1,000 would be chosen to receive Beta Keys to Diablo 3. Those of you like me who've been waiting to hear that news for years and years (and years,) oh my goodness the excitement burns in the heart. Diablo 2 was (and yes, still is) played by thousands, being one of the games to pave the way for such games as World of Warcraft, a game that's estimated to hold over 60% of the market share for MMORPG games in the world.

Diablo 3 coming to consoles?

Diablo 3 coming to consoles?

Blizzard president, Mike Morhaime may have just stoked the fire about their upcoming game, Diablo 3. While it was expected this game would only appear on PCs, we're now hearing buzz it might be released on consoles as well.

Recently at BlizzCon, Morhaime spoke about the game and how each game at Blizzard includes a discussion of appropriate platforms. He said, "As Diablo 3 takes shape, I think we'll do an evaluation. I think there is a pretty good argument to be made that that type of game might work very well on consoles. There might be some technical limitations though that we might need to get past."

Diablo III designer hints at a return of the Necromancer

Diablo III designer hints at a return of the Necromancer

Many Diablo II fans had a love for the Necromancer and sadly it isn't in the listing for classes coming in Diablo III. Well Jeff Wilson sat down and gave some reasons for that and also gave hope that the Necromancer class still had a chance at being in Diablo III.

Basically, in an effort to make a new game, they only chose old classes that could be changed to make better. The Necromancer was just too good, however, the Witch Doctor is very similar with just a few differences.

Diablo III producer under fire for adding color

Diablo fans have finally gotten Diablo III and even now that they've gotten it, some still aren't happy.  It would appear as if some fans would prefer the new Diablo to be no different from the first two graphics-wise.  Which I understand, it's hard when one of your favorite games is altered.  One great example of a new direction gone wrong is Doom 3.  I still have the old Doom games on my computer, but I despise Doom 3.

No Diablo III console release

No Diablo III console release

When Blizzard decided to start work on Diablo III, one of the things they felt was important was to simplify the interface down to needing little more than a mouse. This of course added fuel to speculation that the game may see a console release. Thankfully Lead Designer Jay Wilson specifically touches on this matter.

Diablo III announced

Diablo II definitely ranks among my list of favorite games for the PC. There's just something about hacking and slashing my way through the minions of evil that I just can't get enough of. I'm pretty sure it's only been around a year since the last time I played it. Like many other fans of the series, I was disappointed long ago when it was stated that there would be no future Diablo titles. However, Blizzard has since changed their tune, as the third game in the series has been officially announced.
