Dell Streak Android Tablet Pulled Temporarily For Some Updates

Dell Streak Android Tablet Pulled Temporarily For Some Updates

The Dell Streak bills itself as an Android tablet with a 5-inch size getting close to being a smartphone. But, it neither has the pocketability of a smartphone nor the larger screen size of a tablet. And, seeing that most new tablets don't dip under 7-inches, it's safe to say that the 5-inch form factor hasn't caught on in popularity. Hence, when Dell recently pulled the Streak from store shelves, it was believed to be discontinued. But that's not the case, according to a store rep.

Dell Latitude XT3 convertible tablet hits FCC

Dell Latitude XT3 convertible tablet hits FCC

It's been a long time since we heard anything about the Dell Latitude XT3 convertible. This is the machine that I mentioned back in February that converts from a notebook to a tablet with a swiveling screen. If you are interested in a convertible tablet, this rig has finally hit the FCC after hiding in the closet for the last several months. Interestingly the tablet didn't cross the FCC at Dell's behest.

Dell 7-inch QWERTY-slider tablet spotted; Dell Streak 10 Pro promised to China first

Dell 7-inch QWERTY-slider tablet spotted; Dell Streak 10 Pro promised to China first

Two slabs of Dell tablet news this morning, as a hitherto-unseen QWERTY prototype breaks cover and the company confirms that the 10-inch Dell Streak 10 Pro will make its official debut in China first, rather than the US or Europe. Dell VP and mobility manager John Thode told CNET that Android's immaturity and US carrier control were the main reasons for the staggered launch of the Streak 10 Pro, which will have a 10-inch 1280 x 800 display, 5-megapixel rear camera, and run NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor.

Dell Latitude ST and Streak Pro tablets detailed; CEO predicts Android will squash iPad

Details of two 10-inch Dell tablets, one based on Intel's Oak Trail and the other on NVIDIA's incoming Tegra T25, have emerged. According to the tablet roadmap, acquired by Android Central, the Dell Latitude ST is expected to arrive in October running Windows 7 on a 1.5GHz Oak Trail chip, while the Dell Streak Pro will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb on the Tegra T25 and land in June. The leak comes amid Dell CEO Michael Dell admitting that he "didn't completely" predict the "rapid rise of the tablet" and predicted that Android would squash Apple's iPad.

Dell 10 inch Windows 7 tablet delayed

Dell 10 inch Windows 7 tablet delayed

The launch date for Dell's 10-inch Windows 7 based tablet looks to slip until the fall according to industry analysts. Nobody knows why the 10-inch tablet won't make it's debut until at least September, but it's certainly going to spell doom for Dell taking advantage of the back to school run-up. Dell is planning to position the 10-inch as a business grade tablet anyway, so they not feel the urgency to make the back to school window, instead focusing on the Holiday crowd instead.

Dell slates iPad business potential as Microsoft exec suggests tablet appeal short-lived

Dell slates iPad business potential as Microsoft exec suggests tablet appeal short-lived

If you can't beat 'em, slate 'em. iPad 2 demand remains sky-high, but that hasn't stopped Dell from sniping at the Apple tablet with the suggestion that it had failed - and would continue to fail - to penetrate the enterprise market (and coming up with some spurious figures to try to illustrate that). Meanwhile, Microsoft is casting doubt on whether the tablet segment as a whole is going to stick around at all.

Dell Latitude XT3 convertible tablet PC on video

Dell Latitude XT3 convertible tablet PC on video

Dell has given up the goods on some of its new business notebooks and among those notebooks is the somewhat interesting Latitude XT3 convertible tablet PC. Convertible machines have never burned up the sales charts or been excessively popular like a pure tablet along the lines of the iPad, but the convertible form is nice for some folks.
