The Dell Streak bills itself as an Android tablet with a 5-inch size getting close to being a smartphone. But, it neither has the pocketability of a smartphone nor the larger screen size of a tablet. And, seeing that most new tablets don't dip under 7-inches, it's safe to say that the 5-inch form factor hasn't caught on in popularity. Dell Latitude ST and Streak Pro tablets detailed; CEO predicts Android will squash iPad

Details of two 10-inch Dell tablets, one based on Intel's Oak Trail and the other on NVIDIA's incoming Tegra T25, have emerged. According to the tablet roadmap, acquired by Android Central, the Dell Latitude ST is expected to arrive in October running Windows 7 on a 1.5GHz Oak Trail chip, while the Dell Streak Pro will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb on the Tegra T25 and land in June. The leak comes amid Dell CEO Michael Dell admitting that he "didn't completely" predict the "rapid rise of the tablet" and predicted that Android would squash Apple's iPad.

Intel expecting 35 Atom tablets in 2011; Dell’s Intel Android plans quietly deleted

Intel has announced manufacturer partners intending to produce 35 Atom-based tablets in 2011, with systems running Windows, Android and MeeGo all on the cards. CEO Paul Otellini confirmed the news at a tech conference this week, describing the two versions of Atom - Oak Trail and Moorestown - as targeted at Windows and Android/MeeGo tablets respectively. However, Intel has also been modifying its slide-deck since the presentation, removing mention of Dell from the Android-on-Atom column.

File this firmly in the rumor category for the moment, but according to StreakSmart's anonymous sources, Dell is readying a second-gen Dell Streak for release in March 2011. According to the information - which a Dell rep apparently shared during an internal briefing - the tablet/phone hybrid is internally codenamed "Opus One" and will keep the 5-inch form-factor of the current Streak, but update the screen to a higher resolution panel and the processor to a dual-core chip.
