Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 takes the mid-sized mobile market that Samsung's had covered for several years with successive Galaxy Note tablets and adds a pen. With Samsung's newest iteration of the S-Pen, a quad-core Exynos processor under the hood, and this rather thin form-factor, this is easily the best tablet effort in this category the manufacturer has ever offered. In this 8-inch size, Samsung has also created what many will find to be the ideal size for carry-along entertainment and notes.

Samsung GALAXY S 4 unveiling video out now: watch Broadway madness in full!

This week the Samsung GALAXY S 4 was revealed in New York City at the legendary Radio City Music Hall with a barrage of Broadway stars playing roles to show the life-friendly features of the new device. If you're all about the Broadway-way of presenting a story, this epic set of oddities will be right up your alley - Fosse style go! Of course, on the other hand, if you've been to or watched the majority of the press event keynotes from mobile market presenters over the past couple of years and love the Apple way of doing things (rather simple), you'll find yourself baffled by the intensity.

Samsung GALAXY S 4 Hands-on

Samsung GALAXY S 4 Hands-on

If success is judged by anticipation, the Samsung GALAXY S 4 is already a winner. Hotly discussed in the months leading up to today's big reveal, expectations for the phone have varied wildly from a ground-shaking rethink to a buff and polish of the best-selling Galaxy S III. The end result, though, treads a line between the two: familiar and yet bursting with new functionality, and refined in ways that, while not perhaps the most headline-catching, nonetheless keep Samsung's hardware at the top of its game. Read on for our hands-on first impressions.

Samsung REX series aims for Nokia’s pie with “smart feature phones”

This week the folks at Samsung have revealed the REX series, what they're calling "smart feature phones" working with the company's own "TouchWiz" user interface - but this time without Android underneath. Each Samsung smartphone to have been released over the past several years either works with Samsung's TouchWiz UI or has been a rather unique addition to the family - the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was one of these, working with a Google-only version of Android per the "Nexus" brand's legacy. Now with a series of Java-based OS-running Smart Feature Phones, Samsung is ready to take on the world - and specifically Nokia's Asha lineup.

Samsung Galaxy Chat pairs QWERTY candybar with Ice Cream Sandwich

Samsung Galaxy Chat pairs QWERTY candybar with Ice Cream Sandwich

Android smartphones with non-sliding QWERTY keyboards are still something of a rarity, so forgive us for getting unduly interested in Samsung's Galaxy Chat, freshly announced today. Pairing a 3-inch QVGA touchscreen and a thumb-board, the Galaxy Chat may be something of a disappointment in most of its specifications, but a footnote by the Korean company confirms at least one curious tidbit: an LTE version is in the pipeline.

So long, RIM, and thanks for all the phones

So long, RIM, and thanks for all the phones

Oh RIM. Where did it all go wrong? The company has been flailing for some time now, but its dismal financials on the latest earnings call paired with the announcement that BlackBerry 10 won’t make an appearance until the first quarter of next year has almost certainly sealed RIM’s fate. It’s not quite the end of the road just yet, but the light at the end of the tunnel is growing dimmer with each passing day.
