iTunes 10.1.2 released, supports CDMA iPhone 4

Apple has released iTunes 10.1.2 for the Mac and PC, adding CDMA support in the latest update.  This is necessary for those who plan on buying Verizon’s iPhone 4 and have it sync properly with iTunes. The release didn’t specifically mention Verizon and only referred to an “iPhone 4 (CDMA model)” which has people speculating whether other CDMA carriers for the iPhone 4 may be in the near future.

12-15m CDMA iPhone 4 shipments predicted for 2011 as China, India & more eye Apple

Apple is believed to have ordered in the region of 12-15m CDMA iPhone handsets in 2011, with sources in Taiwan claiming that strong demand drove that number up from a cautious 10m. According to DigiTimes, the CDMA iPhone 4 orders - which will head to Verizon in the US initially - have recently begun shipping; Verizon will offer the fourth-gen smartphone to existing subscribers from February 3, then to new customers from February 10 2011.

The Verizon CDMA iPhone rumors continue, with the latest tidbit being a selection of photos purported to show a CDMA handset undergoing testing.  According to source site Richy Rich, the images are of the so-called "N92" device first mentioned by John Gruber back in August as being in engineering verification, only if the screenshots are to be believed it has now reached DVT or "device verification testing" stage.

If you thought Windows Phone 7 would give you some respite from the perpetual CDMA iPhone 4 rumors, think again.  Rather than Verizon this time, however, it's a pair of Indian carriers tipped to be getting the radio-tweaked iOS smartphone; the WSJ claims to have heard from sources that "Tata [Teleservices Ltd.] has been in talks with them [Apple] for four to five months now" and that "this has been going on as India is a big market for CDMA. It [any launch] should benefit both parties."

CDMA iPhone 4 in Q4 2010 rumors resurface

The iPhone 4 launch gave us little respite from the persistent rumors that Apple is working on a CDMA version of the smartphone for Verizon, and sure enough here's another set of mysterious "sources from component makers" tipping imminent EVDO iPhones.  According to DigiTimes, Pegatron is currently manufacturing CDMA iPhone 4 units in their Shanghai production facilities, with the handsets set to begin shipping to Apple in Q4 2010.
