iPhone 5 “just weeks away” complete with NFC

Apple's iPhone 5 is "just weeks away" from being unveiled, according to an unnamed source at the company, with rumors still indicating that it will be a significant departure from the current iPhone 4. Though Apple is yet to confirm any plans itself, speculation has coalesced on a late-September or early-October announcement, something a Bits insider apparently confirms. Those sources also suggest that the Case-Mate cases teasingly posted then pulled by the accessory company "seemed potentially authentic."

Wireless charging to see 65x growth by 2014 claims iSuppli; Nokia & RIM tipped as cutting their cords

Wireless charging solutions like the Palm Touchstone are likely to increase in shipments by a factor of 65x by 2014, iSuppli are predicting, suggesting that cordless power will spread from mobile phones to "portable media players, digital still cameras and mobile PCs."  They also predict the rise of a common standard which all manufacturers could promote cooperatively.  Current wireless charging shipments are believed to be around 3.6m units in 2010, though iSuppli expect that to rise to 234.9m in just four years time.

Actually someone(s) just broke in and took some high priced Mac Books (Pros?). It happened at Seattle’s University Village Mall.

There are two really good parts to this story, first, the Apple store in question’s alarm, doesn’t trigger a response from the police, just someone that either works at the store or at the mall. Second, and this one is real good, the store’s design worked against itself, they broke in through the roof above the repair area, and took a bunch of laptops in for repairs.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most charming, as is the case with this MacBook handle which simply screws into the base of your MacBook or MacBook Pro and means it's easily carried from meeting to meeting.  Of course, sometimes the simplest ideas are also the most dangerous, and carrying an expensive Apple laptop around on full show, subject to the greedy gaze of muggers and the spiteful ways of impromptu rain, doesn't seem all that sensible.
