Hacked Nikon D700 captures video

Hacked Nikon D700 captures video

We know the Nikon D90 shoots HD format video at 720P but the rest of the DSLR members don’t, but there’s a hack enabling Nikon DSLR Live View motion images to be captured in PC. With little twist and work in manufacturer's supplied SDK, programmer has found way to record live feed via USB, and the good news is, it could work for other Nikon DSLR with live view such as D3 and D300.

Nikon DSLR teaser campaign: new camera on March 8th?

It's been a while since we've had a good digital camera teaser campaign, and so we're glad to see Nikon apparently jumping in to deliver just that.  Various French camera sites are reporting receiving glossy cards through the post, with a number on one side and some French text ("I am..." and "I am fun" so far) on the reverse; there's no mention of Nikon, but the colors match the company's color-scheme and the recipients are believed to be all Nikon users.

Nikon D400 prediction gone mad : 24mp with touchscreen LCD

Nikon D400 prediction gone mad : 24mp with touchscreen LCD

We know the Nikon DSLR D400 is coming, there’s no leak more credible than a guide book dropping on Amazon: we’ve seen it happen with the Canon 5D sequel before, and both the book and camera made it to the shelf. However so far there aren’t any technical details of the D400 about. A Chinese site is suggesting the upcoming Nikon would be another bold move, just how Nikon surprised us with the D700: a shrunken D3x with 24mp but a touchscreen display. Is it even possible?

Zigview gets update with S2 Live, now supports Live View

Zigview gets update with S2 Live, now supports Live View

Broad line of DSLRs are currently supporting Live view but none of the lineup from Canon or Nikon offering a tilt/swivel LCD screen where it makes more sense. I’m just saying, it could be a whole lot more useful. If shooting though LCD screen suits you better, Zigview has updated it Zigview S2 with S2 Live to support Live view and extend it connectivity range.

Instead of capturing images from the viewfinder, S2 Live acquires the video feed directly from DSLRs on its 230.000 pixel LCD screen that offers a variety of settings such as brightness, color/B&W and the images can be rotated by 180 degree. Another nice feature of the S2 is its remote shutter function that’s capable of triggering your camera with remote release, motion-release or interval release from a distance.
