What's purported to be a snapshot of RIM's very first BlackBerry with the company's new QNX-based OS, also now known as BBX, has emerged. The handset is codenamed "London" and is scheduled for release sometime in June of 2012. The source of the image also revealed the specs for this all-touchscreen device that's certainly cosmetically a huge departure from RIM's traditional BlackBerry styling.

BlackBerry outage hits Americas as RIM admits bafflement [Updated]

RIM it is still uncertain what is causing the BlackBerry server fault that has left many users without BBM, email or web access for a third day running, the company's software and services chief has admitted today. Rory O'Neill, VP of the affected systems at the Canadian company, told paidContent that - while RIM's official statement yesterday suggested engineers had a grip on the situation - in fact they're still trying to figure out exactly what is happening. Meanwhile, similar BlackBerry outages have now been reported in the US and Canada.

BlackBerry blog hacked in BBM-powered riot reveal protest

The official RIM blog, Inside BlackBerry, has been hacked in retaliation for the company's announcement that it will cooperate with UK police to identify those using BBM to organize looting and violence in London, UK this week. The blog - which is currently offline - was unofficially updated by a group calling itself "TeaMp0isoN" to suggest that, should RIM release information on BlackBerry users, it would make public a database of employee information that includes names, addresses and phone numbers.
