Battlefield lovers rejoice. Electronic Arts and DICE are going to be holding a special event for Battlefield 4 on March 26th at 7:00 p.m. PST. The Battlefield 4 event will take place in San Francisco, California at the 2013 Game Developers Conference. The invitation, received by Gamespot, says, "Please join us to celebrate a new era of Battlefield." Nothing else was mentioned on EA's invitation.

With DICE and Electronic Arts supporting Battlefield 3 with DLC for well over a year now, it's been a pretty great ride for players. Welcome to Thursday evening, everyone. This afternoon we had a bunch of quarterly reports hit, and some were better than others. Google posted its quarterly report a little prematurely, a blunder that had a hand in driving down the price of the company's stock. Later on in the day, we heard from Microsoft, which managed to do pretty good in its first quarter. Sadly, AMD posted its results for quarter 3 just a little while ago, and things aren't looking too good for the company - in fact, it says that it will have to layoff around 15% of its workforce in an attempt to save some money.

Dead Space 3 release date targets early February 2013

We already told you that Electronic Arts used its Gamescom press conference to reveal Battlefield 3 Premium Edition, but it was also there that the release date for Dead Space 3 was announced. The latest installment in the excellent Dead Space series will launch on February 5, 2013 in the US and February 8 in Europe, so get ready to go to war with the Necropmorphs all over again. Electronic Arts also announced that those who pre-order Dead Space 3 will be getting a free upgrade to the Limited Edition, which includes two DLC bundles.

Battlefield Premium hits 1.3 million subscribers

Despite all of the whining we've been hearing about Battlefield Premium, the service is still proving to be quite popular with players. Electronic Arts announced today that Battlefield Premium has reached 1.3 million subscribers after only being available for about a month and a half. The service got an official reveal at E3 2012, with Electronic Arts launching it later that same month.
