Google Nexus tablet July launch tipped after price paring

The Google-branded "Nexus" tablet the search company is co-developing with ASUS has been pushed back to a July release at the earliest, it's reported, with price trimming the reason for the launch change. Although currently ready for a May launch, sources "close to the project" tell The Verge, the Android 4.0 slate would supposedly demand a $249 price tag, something Google and ASUS have obviously decided is too rich for 7-inch tablet buyers to stomach. Instead, it will be redesigned to hit a lower price point.

ASUS Transformer Prime update due March 29 with ethernet support

ASUS has announced that an update for the Transformer Prime is in the pipeline, though while ASUS US is coy on details, that hasn't stopped the Italian arm from spoiling the surprise. ASUS US teased "awesome new features" which the Italians promptly detailed, including a March 29 expected release date - for the local market, at least - and support for a new "Prime LAN cable" accessory that will allow the tablet's USB port to hook up to a wired ethernet cable, making the system even more useful as a laptop alternative.

ASUS tease color combinations for tablets at MWC 2012

There's another brand new teaser video in town this week, coming from ASUS with three colors in mind: Red, White, and Blue, painted right over the tablet landscape. Here's what we're figuring, given the information we have so far: this teaser is for the PadFone. Thus far we've gotten one teaser called "Divided We Stand" complete with some Russian nesting dolls, then we got a "Twice the Pixels, Twice the Fun" teaser which showed how if you put a bunch of rubber balls in a bin, they look better if there's more of them, now we get this. This teaser has three colors on a pallet, a painter smooshing one of them and stamping out a masterpiece on canvas.

ASUS Transformer ICS upgrade sags to March

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer owners may have to hold out a little longer for Ice Cream Sandwich, with the release window for Android 4.0 on the Tegra 2 tablet now extending into March 2012. ASUS Singapore took to Facebook to confirm the bad news, after previous indications from the company tipped a February release for the first-gen tablet. Only last month, ASUS said the upgrade package was in its final tests at Google.
