Today both NVIDIA and ASUS have revealed two new products, both of them coming together here in one product: the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, a 10.1-inch display toting Android tablet with NVIDIA's newest prized processor: the quad-core Tegra 3. The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is the second Android tablet to have been released by the manufacturer, the first being the break-out hit original Transformer, and here in the Prime we've got a tablet that's twice as powerful, in more ways than one. This tablet will be the first Android device on earth with a quad-core processor and has already been seen to be crushing benchmark tests before its official unveiling today - this is already clearly the most powerful Android device on Earth.

ASUS is following up its successful Eee Pad Transformer tablet with the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, which is rumored to launch a week from now on November 9. Further supporting that schedule are documents for the tablet turning up at the FCC today, indicating that the slate is approved and indeed on its way for an imminent launch. A supposed collection of "multiple" sources have confirmed that the very first NVIDIA Kal-El quad-core processor toting tablet will be a next-generation Asus device, very possibly called the Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2. The Kal-El chipset is an object of some discussion of late on when the quad-core chipset would be released, be it Q3 of 2011, Q4, or beyond. What we're to understand today is that the SoC will be at least a month out from now and that it'll be coming into play on the Asus Transformer 2.

That was fast. ASUS has confirmed via Twitter that the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update will be rolling out tomorrow, July 28, to its ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablet. The tablet has been incredibly popular for its keyboard dock that turns it into a notebook hybrid, but has likely been a crowd pleaser for its speedy update turnaround times as well. Its last update to Android 3.1 Honeycomb was just released in the beginning of June.

If you are a fan of the Android OS and have been looking for a tablet, one of the coolest out there is the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. I know a bunch of folks are waiting to grab one until a version with 3G is here. The launch of that 3G Transformer will be coming in August according to Asus but so far, we don’t know what the tablet will cost or the exact date it will land. We still don’t have an exact launch date, but the pricing has been revealed for the tablet in Italy.

We mentioned a week or so back that a version of the Eee Pad Transformer is expected to land in 2012 that runs Windows for the operating system instead of Android like the current Transformer does. The tablet was rumored to land along side another Android version of the Transformer. Another Eee Pad Transformer rumor is circulating that originated with "sources" in Taiwan in the supplier chain. Apparently, another version of the Transformer is expected to land this year.
