ASUS confirm Eee Box B202 desktop: $269 for 1.6GHz Atom

ASUS have been flaunting their now-official Eee Box B202 around Computex 2008 in Taipei, with spaces on the débutante's dance-card filling up fast.  As with the Eee notebooks, both Windows XP and Linux versions of the desktop will be available, each packing a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 802.11n and DVI output.  Best of all are the prices: just $269 for the Linux model and $299 for the Windows model, each with 1GB of RAM and an 80GB hard-drive.

Atom shortage until September say ASUS; Intel raising cost of in-demand chip

Although Intel confessed to having trouble meeting demand for their Atom processor earlier this week, the chip company declined to specify when it thought supplies would stabilize.  The sudden flourish in the budget ultraportable laptop market has certainly exacerbated the problem, and now Asustek Computer president Jerry Shen has confirmed that his company believes the shortfall will continue until September.  However while ramping up production, Intel is apparently also cashing in on the mobile processor's rarity by raising prices.

Pricing on the USA version of the ASUS ZenFone 2 is revealed in an set of unlocked editions coming exclusively to Amazon. No carriers have been named thus far - the phone (large version and small version) will be coming to Amazon unlocked, available for users to add a SIM card to depending on the carrier they're already signed up with. Or want to switch to. The larger phone will compete with the iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note series with a display size of 5.5-inches.

ASUS ZenPad tablet details leak before official debut

It seems ASUS has been hard at work at developing a new line of Android tablets under the name ZenPad. While it has been reported that the company was planning to officially unveil the devices at Computex 2015, but a number of details have made their way out into the wild. First up is the 7-inch ZenPad 7 (model number Z170C), which will see both standard and 3G models. This is followed by the one inch larger ZenPad 8 (Z380KL), which will have the same exterior hardware design, but more power on the inside.

Time to suit up, says ASUS, as it prepares to bring its flagship device to US shores. It has just sent out official invites to its ZenFone 2 launch, which will take place at 1:00 pm on th 18th of May at Manhattan. Being one of the few big smartphones that ASUS is bringing to the US, consider our curiosities piqued. But more than that, our fingers are also crossed that ASUS will actually bring the variant of ZenFone 2 that is one of the more interesting smartphones this half of the year.

On the 18th of May in Manhattan, New York, ASUS will be visiting with a USA-based taste of their smartphone ZenFone 2. This device will subsequently be available at AT&T - like previous releases of ASUS phones in the United States - and will have a lovely 5.5-inch display to do battle with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9, not to mention the new LG G4. At CES 2015 last January, ASUS made some rather interesting reveals when it came to its smartphone line. It had the ZenFone Zoom, for example, which took a page from Samsung's similarly named line of smartphone cameras. The other highlight, however, was the new ZenFone 2 flagship. In usual ASUS fashion, it married somewhat decent specs with an Intel Atom CPU rarely found inside smartphones. But perhaps more interesting is the 4 GB RAM inside, the highest in any phone.
