Apple has managed to delay the ban of the iPhone and iPad in South Korea, and we learned that the company's new dock connector is nearly impossible to mod in a new teardown.

Sony unveils PSN Day 1 Digital program

Sony is always looking for more ways to make the PS3 standout from the likes of the Xbox 360 and Wii (soon to be Wii U), and one new way its doing that is by putting games on PSN the same day they launch at retail. Unveiled today, Sony's new "PSN Day 1 Digital" program will kick off in October with the release of Resident Evil 6, letting users purchase and download full, new games on launch day right from their couch. Even better is that PS Plus users will get to enjoy a 10% discount in some cases.

PS3 gets another redesign at Tokyo Game Show

The next generation may be right around the corner according to some people, but Sony apparently didn't get the memo, as it revealed a brand new PlayStation 3 model during its pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference. The super-slim PS3 that has been the focus of rumors for weeks now was indeed revealed during the press conference, with SCEE chief Andrew House telling the audience that this new model is 20% smaller overall and 25% lighter than the current PS3 slim model.

Ubisoft claims 93-95% piracy rate on its PC games

Piracy on PC is a big deal for publishers, but Ubisoft always seems to be in the spotlight when there's a new story on piracy or DRM. It's hardly a secret that Ubisoft has major issues with piracy, but before it's never really gotten down to hard numbers. Today, that changed in an interview with GamesIndustry International, in which Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that Ubisoft experiences a piracy rate of 93-95% on its PC games.

Well folks, the end of Thursday is nearly upon us, which means we'll be kicking off the weekend soon. Today brought quite a bit more news about the Apple vs. Samsung trial than yesterday did, with Samsung's lawyer fighting back against allegations made by Apple's counsel. Things aren't looking too good for Samsung though, as it appears that Judge Lucy Koh has thrown out quite a bit of the company's evidence, and now Apple is requesting sanctions that uphold its patents based on yesterday's evidence leak. The upside to all of this, however, is that we got another peek at an early iPhone prototype today, so be sure to check that one out.
