If you're the owner an Archos G9 Android tablet, you may have noticed a change yesterday. Archos announced the latest update for the tablet was starting to roll out OTA as of yesterday. The update started rolling out globally and according to Archos, all A9 users need to do is look for the notification "A" in the lower right-hand corner of the device and click it to download the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Archos Child Pad offers $129 Ice Cream Sandwich
Archos has revealed its latest tablet, the Archos Child Pad, targeted at kids looking for a tasty slice of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The $129 slate runs Android 4.0 on an unspecified 1GHz processor, with a 7-inch screen and 1GB of RAM. More important than the hardware, though, is the software, which Archos has locked down to be child-friendly.

ARCHOS 80 G9 Review [Video]
It’s time for the G9 series of Android tablets from ARCHOS, a Texas Intstruments OMAP4 dual-core 1GHz processor toting set of unique-looking pieces of hardware set to hit the streets of North America soon. Archos 35 Home Connect & Smart Home Phone hands-on
The two new Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablets aren’t Archos’ only new products to use Google’s open-source OS; the company also has the somewhat more unusual Archos 35 Home Connect and the companion Smart Home Phone, a chumby-style internet radio and a DECT cordless home phone. Archos 28 and 32 PMPs Available Now
Archos is on a roll today. After officially announcing, and making available for purchase the Archos 70 Internet tablet, the company has also released a pair of Personal Media Players. Smaller form factors, but with the Android Operating System (OS) tucked away inside, making the devices more than just your average MP3 or MP4 player. IFA 2010 Wrap-Up
IFA 2010 isn’t quite finished yet – the show continues through until midway next week – but it’s had its stab at the major headlines. Would-be iPad “killers” and 3D were this year’s themes, with Panasonic, Sony, Sharp and others all trying to convince us that the 1080p HDTV we bought a couple of years ago should really be traded in for a new, 3D-capable set. Product of the show, though, has to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab, with the Korean company delivering a slate that we consistently heard people say was significantly more appealing than they expected.

We can probably safely assume at this point that tablets are here to stay. At least for awhile. And considering the effort that Archos has already put into the Android-based "tablet" market, there's no surprise here that they've just pulled the curtain off five (5!) brand new tablet devices, all featuring Google's mobile Operating System. Ranging in sizes and prices, as well as plenty of Archos-based "improvements" to the User Interface, meet the family of new Archos tablets.
